8u teams

How many organizations are having 8u teams? From the tryout section I noticed Lasers, Diamond Chic and Cincy Static. Are there others?

Also, what do you expect your schedule to be? Tourneys, friendlies, a league? Are these coach pitch (teams/tourneys) or do you have pitcher(s) that will allow to play up in 10u tournaments?

Thanks for any info.

My daughter played with the 8u Lasers and we had two 8u pitcher's, the team played the year at 10u, with those two pitcher's starting every game, and they learned alot and both girls did a great job.

8U's are hard to come by and most can imagine. We have 2 of about 10 that showed up to our first weekend of tryouts that are solid or have ton's of real potential. May have to join forces to make this work. I saw the Lasers 9u and they were quite impressive. Wish we could have played them.

I'd hate to see these 8U girls get railed roaded in to rec ball and miss out.

SGS Magic are working on a 8U Instructional program, they do things first rate so in the near future you can probably add 1 or 2 more 8U teams to the fold in Ohio.

My dd started with the 8u Lasers in 2007, in which we had to go to Indiana for any 8u kid pitch tourney. It would be great for Ohio to start kid pitch at 8u, it will only help build stronger 10u Ohio teams in the future.

Could Ohio 8u teams get together and have their own non-sanctioned tournament?

Sure they could. Couldn't anybody put together a non sanctioned tournament?? You can do what you want if you're not following a sanction's rules.

From what I was told from the head of the Force Fastpitch (Sandusky) they were looking into getting a 8u team for next summer. I hope they do. There isnt many 8u teams out there in our area at all.

I am pretty sure FAST offered a 8u player pitch in one of his Toledo tourney's this year.
