hi my name is T...and i have a Softball addiction...I'm a catcher...and I'm addicted to the big yellow things that fly at my face at 60 mph...by the end of the summer, the team ball bucket is usually running pretty low if not completely empty....i have so many of those beautiful balls in my bag that my equipment can't fit anymore....I SWEAR I DIDN'T STEAL THEM!or at least i don't remember stealing them.....oh did i mention that i suffure from frequent memory loss...sometimes i can't even remember what happeded the game before... doctors tell me its from getting hit in the head too many times from foul tips...they say i should maybe try to take a break from it but i CAN'T!!! they don't understand that i can't just stop catching...ew the thought repulses me!....i also play softball all year round.. it's impossible to stop...and for about a week after tournament season ends i go into a huge state of depression....and don't even get me started on my OFC addiction.....{sigh}...thank you all for your support...i hope you all get better...but I THINK ILL LIVE WITH MY ADDICTION CAUSE IM ONE BAD BUTT SOFTBALL PLAYER AND I'D RATHER BE ADDICTED TO IT 24/7 THAN SITTING ON THE COUCH WATCHING THE BROWNS KICK THEMSELVES IN THE BUTT DAY AFTER DAY!

Does the addiction include The fear of throwing away old worn out softballs?
And the act of checking 2 to 3 times to see if you brought the scorebook along?
I am hooked....... I even check the Doctors office tables for anything with softball on it.
By the way the softballs do not stay on the radio antenna very well.
The door handles on the closet do work ok, I got that idea from the wife when she told me to get a grip!! She has a mean fastball in the hallway! I guess now I know what she means about getting a grip.
By the way....... the white softball just doesn't get it on my key chain, should I try the yellow marker on it too?
I best go polish those Softballs one more time.

Addicted to OFC & Yellow Leather
hmmmmm Yellow Leather!!?? nah... I don't think the wife would go for that.

12 Step Program: Recognizing You have a Problem!

If you?ve been living with an OFC addiction problem for a while now, you know how devastating it can be. Your friends and family tell you that you need help. You may have gotten in trouble at home, work, or even with the law. You?ve tried to cut back, but you always seem to end up on the Computer again at the OFC site just as much as you were - or more. You?ve tried to quit completely, but you just can?t seem to do it. So you just tell everyone you don?t have a problem and to get off your back. You tell yourself you?ll do it one day. You blame others around you: ?If he would just do this or if she would just stop doing that.? The truth is ? you MIGHT have a OFC addict/Softballholic problem. You just don?t know what to do or where to turn.

Families living with a OFC addict/Softballholic can be difficult, at best. We want to help them but sometimes we just don?t know where to turn or what to do. It is often said that the OFC addict/Softballholic has to ?hit bottom? before he/she will go for help, and there is some truth to that statement. Think about it. We rarely ask for help with anything unless it is really causing us problems. We don't usually go to the doctor or take our car to the mechanic unless there is an obvious problem, often one that has been present for some time. When you think about the nature of the OFC addict/Softballholic addiction, which is characterized by such great denial and delusion, it is clear why a person with an OFC addict/Softballholic problem doesn't just wake up one day and decide to get help. There is usually some crisis - one that makes the discomfort of using the computer greater than the discomfort of quitting - which sends him or her to get help.

Signs and symptoms of OFC addict/Softballholic
Health
Continuing to to stay up late at night on the OFC site even though you are tired and have to work the next day.

Financial issues
Purchasing Softball Equipment and Softball related items.
Inability to keep track of your money.

Employment or school
Continuing your Softball addiction even though you realize your job or education is in jeopardy.
Missing work or school, or going in late due to your Softball addiction.

Family and friends
Feeling annoyed when other people comment on, or criticize your Softball habits.
Associating with questionable acquaintances or frequently out to a different Ballpark.

Social life
Scheduling your day around Softball.
Focusing recreational activities around Softball,
On the OFC site alone or in secret.

Signs and symptoms of OFC DEPENDENCE

Cravings
Strong and overwhelming desire to logon the OFC site at a specific time or the next morning Creating a ritual of being on the OFC site before, during, or after dinner, and becoming annoyed when this pattern is disturbed or questioned.

Tolerance
A tendency to be online more than intended, or being unable to stop once you start,
Consuming a large quantity of Softball Info without appearing intoxicated.

Effects on memory and motivation
Not remembering Family or friend conversations or commitments; sometimes referred to as a "blackout" once online at the OFC site.

But it is possible to ?raise? that bottom for the OFC addict/Softballholic. The best steps a family member or friend can take to help a person with an OFC addiction/Softballholic problem are to LEARN the facts about addiction, get SUPPORT for him/herself, IDENTIFY and STOP any ?enabling? behaviors and CALL The Softball Anonymous Council at 1-800-FSTPTCH.

And Seriously! I don't see that I have an OFC addiction, I just enjoy having the opportunity of helping my fellow OFCer's out.

FASTPITCH! Anything else, and you're playing to SLOW!

Whew,Thank God Blue, for the help I dont think it's a full blown addiction. So I can maybe still get help.

I'm Tim, kindly named QuakerFlake or just Flake by Ringer. I drive a truck between Cincy to Lexingon to Louisville and back to Cincy at night. I work a lot of overtime because when driving down the interstate and I spot lights situated on poles ... and I must pull over to see if a softball game is going on and whether or not I can recruit teams to play in my tournaments.

The parking lot at the mall is empty. This make me sad.

Dont be sad maybe you could get a pick up game going in the parking lot.Nice lighting most of the time and if you play in the back parking lot you might be able to get in a full game before security pulls up.Just a thought Quakerman.

I've been to the Therapist a couple of times, and you know the Magazine racks, Doctors' have in the waiting room. Well would you believe I was setting there going through the Magazine rack and all was in it were Magazines about Softball like Fastpitch Forever, Softball Today, and the likes what was I supposed to do? I tripped out of the Office a managed my way out the front door, and headed to the Ballpark. It's the only place I can find relief other then OFC!:lmao::lmao:
