The Perry X-Treme, a 10U team this year lost their Head Coach, Tom West, this morning. Tom leaves behind a wonderful family and many, many friends. Please keep his family in your prayers.
This is just tragic to hear. To know that a team has lost a coach, a wife has lost a husband, a child has lost their father, a friend has lost a friend and we all as a softball community have lost a family member....
My deepest sympathy goes out to the West family. May the power of prayer and the love of family and friends ease your pain if even for a moment.
My prayers are with you..... God Bless
Tom was in charge of the fields and a lot of other stuff for our Perry hotstove rec league. He wanted to move his 10u team up to 12u because they were running all over the 10u teams. They wouldn't let him so this year is going to be the first year for Perry Extreme travel team. Isn't this how many of the travel teams got started? It's such a shame that this happened to someone so young. My family's thoughts are with him. We know many of the girls on this team. It is a big loss to the Perry family.
There is not much that I can say that has not already been expressed by those who knew him. Except that my Deepest Sympathy goes out to his Family. But it does sadden me to that a Family lost a Loved One, and a Team lost a Leader.
May God Bless!
FASTPITCH! Anything else, And you're playing to SLOW!
Didn't know Tom, but he is certainly in our thoughts and prayers. From what I've read, he seemed to be one heck of a guy. Hats off to him for influencing young one's lives -- I'm sure they'll remember him forever. God bless his family.
Didn't know Tom but he sounds like a great guy. God Bless his family and the poor girls on his team. They are too young to have to go through such a loss. I'll pray for the family and the team.
Tom was a great guy...although some people thought he was too tough...he BELIEVED in our girls...he saw something special in all of them. He knew that they had potential and he wanted all of them to live up to that. Our girls respected him and they all have lost their friend. It is up to us to carry this team on they way he would have wanted. We are all one giant family and he will be missed.
I am a parent from the 10U ice team that has scrimaged this team twice. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and the team. I am sure the rest of our team will be as shocked as I was. I know the whole 10U ice team will have you in our prayers.
