Just For Fun, GLASS CITY STAMPEDE

A couple of years ago, I put some girls together to play a tournament and Fall Ball. I was looking in THE BLADE and noticed alot of these girls having great H.S. seasons.

That's a impressive team. I wonder how that team would do against the top 18U teams in the state.

Kelly Hensley was also on both teams.

It was fun that's for sure. Remember being down like 9-0 or something like and coming back and winning one inning at a time, scoring a few runs an inning.

Then the championship game which was one of the best games I have ever seen @ the 14U level were we beat Iricks Magic team that had Dani Haley, Tobias, Grana, Loy, Irick and Rice on it.

Thunder, Megan Turner - Defiance HS - is currently batting .389 and her pitching record is 9 - 1 with an ERA of .90. She's having a great Sophomore year.

I remember that tourney as LT was trying to decide to stay with the Magic or move on. It was our last tournament with the Magic, but the friends we made that summer have stayed with her since, including the coaches who are a class act. (Doug Irick and Tom Stalter). Good times, good memories.

Mrs Uber read this and reminded me of something I had forgot about. When we won the country classic we got championship T-shirts in which the word Country was misspelled :lmao:

I think being on the Glass City Stampede was the most fun I ever had playing softball
