Someone can correct me, but didn't the Buckeye Heat 14U beat the Maddogs and Ice indoors ?

I know its been said before but Indoor games are so hard to judge. I think that once all of these teams get going outside things will shake out. Many or most of them play eachother at some point during the season so it should be fun.

This year is definitely going to be interesting, to say the least.

I agree wg. I think the 14U will see some ebb and flow among the teams through out the year. Except for the couple at the top.

They were indoor games from what I was told, with all the high school kids now missing able to play. The one thing you can judge from indoor is dominate pitching. That doesn't change when you move outside.

They were 3 game friendlies, but I'm sure all the teams looked at them as scrimmages. BH94 is a tough team for sure, and I look forward to playing them outside.

Ohio Wave is an unkown to me, down here in Cinci land. Slammers & Lasers Red no surprise, but who has Ohio Wave played and beat to get that rating? Just curious, as I seem to not know anything about them and being rated so high means either they play only up north, or just bad timing and have not gotten to see them.

I know some of this is based on last year, and who is or isn't coming back... So love to learn a little about Ohio Wave as to why they are so good..?

The Wave are actually down your way. They won GAPSS last year as a 13u team. They are solid.

Not certain but I heard it was looking like it might be the 5/23-5/24 w/e at an ASA NQ in Findley.

However, with all of the HS rainouts there could be too many girls still tied up in HS ball and that is looking less likely to happen.

I know both are playing 16U at GAPSS. Aside from that, it might not happen unless they run into each other down in Atlanta.

Triplethreat our team did not play down around Cincinnati last season but we did go 63 - 8 last year with a team that had nine 13 year olds and three 14 year olds. We return all nine of those 13 year olds (including all three starting pitchers from last year) as well as three new excellent additions. The bulk of this group has been together now for 5 years. The last time we played down in Cincinnati (last year of 12U) we won the Sluggerfest "A" division. Our schedule just took us in a different direction and we have not been back down around there since. We are scheduled to play at the Heatin it Up tournament down in Wilmington in the 14U "A" bracket and I am hoping that we have all of our players but 5 or 6 of them are on teams that have a realistic shot at being in Akron that weekend.

Last year the team won 4 tournaments including GAPSS, and a 16U event while placing Runner-up in 3 others including the World Series, and a 5th place finish at Stingrays where they lost to the eventual tournament champs 2-0.

This is a very nice group of players that work hard all year long and take the game serious. We look forward to getting back out there in June and competing with some of the best teams in Ohio and the rest of the midwest.

I'd believe the hype...wave has had a good program for some years now, they dont seem like some fly-by-nite group

We got to play the Wave last year and the Laser Red and White. The Wave is a very good team. Played the Buckeye Heat 13U last year. Very tough and not on this list.
So my viewpoints are from who we played and who I have watched this year. Only thing I agree above is the Slammers are #1.

Hey SBFamily

We are more than happy to be off the list. First, that's probably an accurate assessment of our place as a young team in a very very good group of 14U teams. Second, it never hurts to have a good source of motivation or to sneak up on people. ;&

Is there more than one Chain Reaction?
(Oh) Roadrunners played them in the Valley Sting Tour. and beat them.

Yes,
They have a young 13U (Palette) team and and older 14U (Nicholas) team which still has girls playing high school.

My daughter's team played against the Maddogs this past weekend in Mineral Ridge. I think they are very much worth mentioning in this thread. Very impressed with their bats.
