Asked dd's both surprised me and said trophies, I believe the quote was " you can grow out of t-shirts but trophy's last forever."

Hoodies are just a few more bucks a kid and girls don't care how big a hoodie is ! This has been discussed a bunch on here over the years , I'd go with anything other than trophies , A team gift , new pop up , new hit sticks , 25 $ gift certs at Dicks or some other supplier (hopefully a OFC supporter ) maybe softball.com / softball express. Or championship tee's are great.

DD and I agree. The Sportzone in Indy gave out hoodies. Girls loved that.

The Buckeye Heat/Magic/Rays/Diamonds combo team had fun with the tee shirts at the Danger tournament.

I gave back packs last year for the champ and the back sacks for the runner ups. They were made by Louisville Slugger. The backpack was the bat bag style so if the player wanted use it for that purpose they could. These things are huge and roomy.

One of the team moms told me her daughter and friends would be using them as overnight bags for softball trips so they really like them.

Hey Mike,

My girls from a few years ago LOVED the bat bags you gave out for the champs. Most of them still use them actually! It was an awesome prize for winning a tourney!

I asked my DD and she said trophies or a mix. She said she would be dissapointed if EVERY tournament was the same, so mix it up TD's. Just because one tournament does shirts, doesn't mean the girls want everyone to jump on that bandwagon. It's fun for them to get a trophy here and there and a shirt here and there. Also, Sudden Death gave out medals and she loved that but she also said she didn't want every tournamnet to now give them out, it loses the uniqueness. I will say though in the end, when a team wins a tournament they are so happy I think that they aren't too picky:)

We given out bobbleheads or snowglobes the last couple of years. The girls seem to like them. We no longer give individual trophies in adult softball. In league play and tournament play we give out t-shirts, long sleeve t's, sweatshirts, and sometimes jackets.

8494 - I agree. Mix it up. Make it unique. Last year we attended an ASA qualifier in NY and the girls received a trophy that had a sponge type softball in it that spinned when your pushed it. The team received a plague with a built in clock. Very nice. We are 16s. The girls loved them. They also like getting t-shirts/hoodies, etc. So as much as adults will say trophies are dust collectors (true), the girls still like getting trophies and medals. It's also neat when you go to different tournies and get something different/unique.

I'm older now, but still have my trophies from when I played travel, so there is something to be said for that too, I think. JMHO.

I think tournaments should reward cash to the team and at the end of the year the team can divide it evenly amongst the players as a fee refund.

I don't believe any girl wants to walk away after playing their hearts out all weekend long with someone saying to them. Can I have your shirt size so I can send you a shirt? I don't think the girls care which they get they just want to get something.

The Organization should get a trophy to display in their trophy case. I know when we go to the Billy Dome or Spano Dome it's cool to see all of the trophies that their teams have won over the years. I'm sure many orgs have these set ups. Those are the only two that I've seen. I honestly don't know what my dd prefers for herself. We've never talked about it.
