I want to compliment the Stingrays and their Umpiring crews for the tournament this past weekend. It was probably the BEST crew I've experienced this year at any venue. Consistant, fair and extremly knowledgeable. Since most only hear the complaints, I felt that they should also hear the appreciaton.

Umpiring at Pickerington North was pretty good but I have to give props to the field crews. I know other venues were either cancelled or greatly delayed but we were able to keep on time at PN. Actually we were playing 10 to 15 minutes early Sunday morning. I know some of that has to do with the ability of the fields to take water in the first place but we had crews ready who were stepping on the fields in between innings touching up areas. Great job and a fun tournament.

Ill usually know quite a few of the umpires at tournies but there wasnt alot of familiar faces. I talked to one that said he was from buffalo, N.Y. in just for this tourney. He was also top notch.

We did have 2 that totally missed a runner not tagging at third and basically taking off from 3 ft off the bag which ended up a deciding run.

I thought the umpiring at Hilliard was the worst I have ever seen.

I feel the quality of calls and umpire knowledge were about the same as we get everywhere else. There are good and bad everywhere you go. IMOP, when you put top notch teams and coaches together, most know how to conduct business. This makes it more enjoyable for everyone, umpires included.
