Ohio Top Guns 16u beat Sapphires 14u in final 6-5. Sapphires had beaten Top Guns in Pool, and led 5-0 midways through final but Top Guns' bats came to life and they rallied for a nice Championship Game victory.

They beat Wildcats 2-1 in an exciting game that ended with the Wildcats popping out with the bases loaded.
One thing that we did not like was the TD's decision to change to the rules at the last minute to not allow two EPs. We had signed up based on this being in the tournament rules because we want to bat all 11 girls. They admitted that they made this change the day of the tournament but did not care. If you are going to post rules like that and people enter based on that you should not change it.
Scott ... was not at this tournament but have read a couple of your jabs at the east side (of Cleveland) talent. While this area was I believe the last in Ohio to go over to fastpitch and admittedly behind the other regions of the state, the last several years have produced quite a few girls particularly pitchers who have been very successful thus far in their college careers (including at DI schools). And several more are on the way with this year's graduating class.
An occasional pitcher and catcher that's totally understandable especially when they probably been having at it since 10u. And as far as the East side being the the last to convert from slow to fast pitch that's no excuse. There were plenty of opportunities for kids and parents to dedicate themselves work hard and get on teams that are consistent winners. If you pay attention to a few things one there are no area east side High Schools going deep in the states, as well as none of the east side teams breaking the top 10 rankings on this site.:lmao:
Not making any excuses and can't disagree with your comments re: east side high school teams. This is definitely not one of the "hot bed" areas of the state for fastpitch softball. But like you say, there are some girls who have worked hard and been successful, and I see this number increasing every year and the travel teams are getting more and more competitive as well.
