Tough Coaching Decision

This weekend I witnessed what I thought was one of the most couragous coaching decisions I have witnessed. The team had used all of their subs and had 9 players on the field. The pitcher developed quite an attitude on the mound. She laughed after hitting a batter, talked back to her coaches, made hand gestures to the other team and was a total disgrace. The coach pulled her from the game and played with 8 on defense and took an out for the player on offense.

Hurray for this coach for encouraging disipline and fair play with his team!

Good move by the coach. Her parents are probably the kind to blame the coach, otherwise she wouldn't be acting like that to begin with.

many kudos to that coach.

tough decision

even tougher decision to sit a kid who is the coach's daughter, but if the job isn't getting done sit her down to send a message.

Great coaching decision. I"m tired of poor sportsmanship. I only wish my son's coach had the you know whats to make that kind of decision. If I see another player on his team destroy the dugout after striking out I just might lose it.

My sister in law told me that in one of her sons games a kid on the other team spit on him at second base then said "do something about it!" to him. My husband has watched this team play (the little B team to his big B) Has already decided that he won't coach those boys. The are all smart mouths, yell at the coaches and umpires! Pretty bad for a group of 15 & 16 year olds.

Hats off to the coach who pulled that player. My dd can have meltdowns. The older she gets the fewer they are, but when it happens she needs to be pulled!! And she listens to me the whole way home!! Believe me that is a deterant!! :lmao:

As a pitcher's mom, I would never tolerate that kind of behavior from my daughter and I wouldn't expect the coach to either. Super job, Coach!!! It is so much more important to teach the girls character than to worry about one win or loss; too bad not every coach is like this!

I applaud this coach for doing this because we have one on our team that throws huge fits when she doesn't get her way or when she doesn't get on base yet it is tolerated by the coaching staff.

My DD subbed in a tourney this weekend and we heard about a game where the 3rd baseman give a girl the bird (while she was playing the game) to a girl sitting in the other teams dug out because the baseman overheard them talking about how that team is not playing with a good attitude. I guess flipping the bird prooved the point. Very Sad!!!!!!!!!!!!
