Buckeye Heat 95 lucky enough to complete 4 innings for official win 4 to 1 over Indiana Shockers. Number 1 seed brings the "honor" of an 8 a.m. game tomorrow. Five a.m. will roll around all too quickly but that's why we get paid the big bucks.

1 question and a comment -- any word on who won some of the skills competetions home run derby, speed drills etc ?
Comment --the website says check back after 4pm for brackets --it 9;05pm and no brackets . my comment is that isn't good.

(1) They had the results posted for skills comp yesterday - Did not see final results

They were back playing at 6:00 tonight. Boards at the site said website will be updated at 10:00pm. Tonights 7:00pm games now at 8:00am Sunday and everything moved back. Time limits now 1:15.

Long day for the 16U Lady Bullets!! Rained out for the 8am so we (I) waited around most of the day to see where we fell into bracket play. Ended up drawing the Thunder Elite @ 6:10 after an hour delay. A nice hard fought win (6-5) by the Bullets against a very talented Elite team that scored 3 in the last inning to make it close.
Lost two games due to a team not showing up and one to rain so it was nice (even after 10 hours of waiting) to get a game in. Next up is the Extreme Heat at 9:30 field #8.

I saw number of fields sitting empty that look Ok last night around 6:00pm as well. not sure what the deal was but it appeared that some of the 7:0pm games could have been played.
My biggest gripe is that the fields were only lined and dragged once the entire day (before the first game). This is of course an ongoing issue at Berliner and at some point they really need to address it. By noon the fields are a mess even on a nice day and by late afternoon they are dangerous. Saw way too many bad hops because of conditions on what could have easily been avoided by a 2 minutes trip around the infield with a drag. TD's that use this facility have to get this corrected here, no more lame excuses. Saftey is an issue and I brought it up with the UIC of the tournament as well.
By all accounts they bring in a ton of cash at $5.00 a car load all weekend long. All we ask is that they spend a few dollars of it on paying some help to line and drag every once in a while.
