Alot of good teams, game should be fun to watch. The DD is a speaker at the opening ceremonies, i hope she doesnt flub her speech !!! If any OFC'ers are there come up to the guy in the Yankees gear and say hi, i think im getting drafted to scorekeep a couple games.

Ive had a chance to meet a few more OFC'ers this weekend, The Sudden Death guys, among others. Met and hung out with CoachRon (great guy, someone that would be fun to throw back some beers with) and saw a great game between the Wisconsin Bandits and MC Madness, with the RFer making a catch that has to the play of the tourney so far !

It was fun talking to you also Hitter23. I also had some good conversation with gofastpitch. We may have a chance to do the beer thing. My parents said they would like to come back for a tournament next year.

That catch into the fence by the Wisconsin girl was great.

The field crew needs to be commended on getting the field ready after the all night rain we had on Thursday/Friday morning. Great job! I was told that they used over 2 truckloads of field dry getting the fields prepped.

It was really cool when my wife told me that one afternoon during the rain delay when she walked up to the room, there were 20+ girls sitting in the hallway out in front of our room just talking and hanging out. It was our team, some of the Wisconsin Bandits, some of the Palmer Merchant (Mass.), and I think a few of the Lady Fireballers from Pa.

I do think the hotel was probably happy to get rid of my team, they used the entire place as a hide n seek field every day. The funniest part was the game of duck-duck-goose in the middle of the lobby. LOL

Yes, thats the one.....

I got a chance to meet quite a few more OFC'ers, i talked to Twinsdad a long time while i kept score, nice guy ! Rollwiththechanges filled me in on the history of the CincyMagic lol ( stay in the game, it needs guys like you ). I also met cdmx5, and last but not least, gofastpitch, who made sure i knew i didnt mention him on my first post a few times lol .
It was nice to meet all you guys this past week and I hope you had a good experience with the tournament in Dayton.

P.S. Edgeoo, i heard you had to forfeit due to a injury in that last game friday night, was it your DD, and whoever it was, are they alright?

Yes, Hitter, it was mt DD again. This is the 3rd time in the past year. Broken/dislocated ankle in Zanesvilee last August. Two disks removed in April and now knee injury. We will get MRI as soon as the swelling goes down. Well. I don't know about the MRI since she has the plate and 7 screws in her ankle. She's becoming the bionic woman. We're hoping for the best.

Our team has been snakebit all season. We lost our #1 pitcher before we ever played a game. We also had a broken elbow, tendonitis and several severely sprained ankles. Through it all, even though our record didn't survive all the injuries, I loved this team. I had alot of fantastic kids and I had the fortune of having several guest players who were also great.

LOL with you Hitter and yeah that was a terrible way for SDS to finish their season. Over the tournament I think that were 8 to 10 girls with some tough injuries and the EMT staff seemed very busy.

The Wisconsin Bandits won it all with a 3-0 win over the Roselle Rampage. The Indy Fusion ended up 3rd and the OFC Xplosion finished 4th.

It was a great tournament and a bunch of good teams from 10 different states. Lou and Shorty did a great job for ASA and with the City of Dayton doing a good job for their first tournament they may get more ASA Nationals in the future. I think the 16U and 18U maybe here next year.

The Bandits were a very tough team as was all of the of the top 4 finishers. How did the Indy Shockers end up? They sure could mash, one of the best hitting teams ive seen at that level.

Oh yeah we had one of the best Official Scorers in Hitter!! By the way your DD did a great job at the opening ceremony and I think she did some Scoring too.

The Indiana Shockers lost NW Explosion I think so they probably finished 8th. They beat us in Pool and yes a solid team!

I think that these were the final 8 teams on Sunday.

Interesting note in that there was a lot of drama between the Indiana teams and part of me thinks that the negative cheers against opposing teams has a lot to do with that. One team was consistently chanting to the batter from the field. Some teams played through it while others complained and caused unnecessary friction during the game. Just play the game and cheer for your own players. If you feel the need to chant against the other team tells me that you don't feel confident that you can beat them. Respect the game!!!

Saw players spitting in their hands during after game line-ups. The Wisconsin Bandits were accused of using a camera man to relay signals into batters(really crazy) while it was ok for their runner on 2nd base to relay signals into the batter. I was just standing there watching a game and a parent made sure that she got between me and the coach because she thought that I was stealing signals. Really made me laugh and to really make sure that she got her job done correctly she opened an umbrella...LOL still.

Overall a great tournament and we had a lot of fun!

This tournament was awesome. Dayton workers did an awesome job. What a great place to run a tournament. There is talk that 16u and 18u could be here next year. I am so proud of our young Diamond Dominators team for their 14th place finish. It is even more impressive when you do it with your original 12 players that were on your roster all year. Oh, that is how you are suppose to do it.

I watched the championship game. Two great teams. What was so refreshing was the team that lost, held their heads up high. They were all smiles. The bandits did a great job and are well deserved champions.

Totally agree Scott. Your Team played very good and should be proud of their performance!

That Rampage team started in the losers bracket early and played a lot of games to get back to the Championship game. Very good team! The Bandits were clearly the team to beat early on and only lost one game in Pool I think. Had some good conversations with coaches and classy people!

Kind of Ironic but I think that it was the Bandits who put them into the losers bracket on Saturday.
