The only ASA/USA National Website that is currently (as of 8/4/09), confirmed by the ASA Website is 10u in Marietta, GA.
I have through scuttlebutt heard the follwing:
18u - Southern California ??
16u - Near Austin Texas ??
14u - No report Yet
12u - No report Yet
10u - Marietta, GA per ASA Website
Anyone in the know have anything more definite, I am disappointed by this apparent change in ASA policy of posting these sites after the Nov meeting, with the change in the NSA and USSSA dates does it appear we are going to have a battle over the world series and nationals dates, was this prompted by ASA requiring teams to forsake the other events and require teams to be at their USA/ASA Nationals site the Sunday before the event?
I have to believe with the turn by the better teams to playing in ASA if given only one choice that USSSA and NSA are gouing to suffer with quality of teams at their nationals, the growth of the ASA "regional" Nationals has to have cut into participation for both NSA and USSSA with these turning into either a "destination" event (i.e. Disneyworld) or proximity (i.e. Columbus, IN in the case of USSSA or Columbus, OH in the case of NSA).
Also and maybe I should start another thread, how will the transfer of Metro Cincinnati from Region 10 (IL,IN,KY) to Region 9 (Ohio) affect qualifying for teams in SW Ohio and the rest of Ohio, will there be 3 metros (Cleveland, Dayton, Cincinnati) and the State of Ohio?
In any case change is on the horizon, no doubt, whether for the good or not remains to be seen, what is your opinion?
