My dd's team Puma's and the Outlaws had a chance to have Howard Kobata out this past weekend what a great experience it was. We had him 1 on 12 for 2 days and 1 day with the Outlaws team. So it broke down to about 11-12hours of the best most intense work my dd has ever had. If you get the chance to see him find a way to do it you will not regret it.
It is Amazing.

I would also like to Thank Howard Kobata, Lance Schmidt, Bill Lilly, Ray Isla, and Bob Hoyles for giving my dd this opportunity and helping Howard it was a wonderful weekend.

Thanks Again
Warren Wolff

PS
If I spelled your name wrong I'm sorry

I was staying with Bill Friday night who was also accommodating Howard and had a chance to talk with him quite a bit during the evening and was extremely impressed with the man. During the drills Friday evening I commented to Bill it's great to see a guy our age still being so physical and fit thinking him to be maybe early fifties. I was stunned when I was corrected and told Howard is 64! I've never heard anything bad about the man and hope he goes as long as Jack Lalane. (for you youngsters you'll need to google who he is.)

I echo everything Warren said about the sessions with Howard (his and my dd are Puma team mates) ... Howard was amazing!

My dd's reaction was that while it was obviously a series of physically intense workouts, she said her head hurt more than anything! ... she thought it was a very informative clinic that more than anything really forced her to try and think about the WHATs and WHYs of the drills.

While Howards DVDs are very informative, his clinics are something to behold ... his stamina, intensity, and focus are unbelievable ... we even got the treat of a few well placed Kabota'isms like "you make play like dog go peepee"!!!! ... I still cant keep a straight face when thinking of that.

I would also like to thank Bill, Lance, Ray, and Bob for making the clinic possible and a success.

My dd's team had an intense workout with Howard 2 yrs ago! It was awesome and I attribute my lefty daughter's training with him for allowing her to be the starting shortstop on her high school team as a freshman! The girls' twenty-something assistant female coach participated with the team. After 2 straight hours of non-stop drills, she was about to cry from exhaustion! They were thankful when the time was up! He is intense! Everyone benefitted from his training!

Actually it was two 2 hours sessions back to back. :)

Howard is awesome and we will be trying to get hom back our way again this year as well, before he retires.

A key with Howard's methods is that they must be continually practiced. If they are not, girls will immediately go back into clicking heels, backstepping with their throwing side foot, catching balls to the side that should be caught out in front, not fielding center-line left and out in front, making improper pivots, etc.

Does anyone know if Howard still does lessons/clinics with Bill Hillhouse? I know they've worked together a lot in the past.

http://www.houseofpitching.com/ Yes. Here is a website that shows Bills and Howard's web pages and when they work together. I have taken my dd to Howard a couple of times and always walk away with more knowledge. What Joe A posted is correct. We have been using his methods with our high school team for a few years , but you must constantly work at it. My first visit I drove to Greenville to see both, do a coaches clinic. I suggest buy the DVD's watch them then go to a coaches clinic then take your kids to one of his workouts. He is intense as most on here posted.

Couldn't agree more, and it may mean that the player needs to own AND REVIEW the Kobata DVD's. This is one of the areas where, for a travel team, the player can take ownership of implementing a specific mechanics style. Unless the team is practicing every day, it's really hard for travel ball coaches to keep pointing out every time the Kobata basics are not followed in warm-ups and practices while we are trying to work on other things. Parents also can be a huge support for this process. Study the concepts and help your DD practice them.

BTW, I have no economic stake in the sale of Howard's DVD's.
