Just wondering since it is the so called off season. If anyone would like to share the best fundraisers they have been involed with or maybe the worst ones.

We have done several different fundraisers over the years and I think they all worked well, some are more work than others and your profit is very often tied to the amount of effort you have to put in.

If you are a 501c3 non-profit organization some sort of gaming event could prove to be very beneficial.
1. We used to hold two Texas Hold'em tournaments each winter and the profit ($3k-$6k a night) from that was quite nice, unfortunately the interest in that is wainning.
2. We would also hold a reverse raffle that included dinner, open bar, etc. at a party center and that would make about $12k in a single night. The economy killed that this year, the parents found it to difficult to sell the tickets.
3. Up north here we can get a group of our parents (40) to work the Nautica Texas Hold'em events and if you have the number of people required I hear you can make upwards of $30k over a four day stretch. Must be a non-profit and attend their classes.

There are always the beer and wings events, we do those for the HS and they make $3k in an evening. Superbowl squares, NCAA bb pool, pick 3 lottery, Easter Candy Sale, etc...

It all depends on what kind of money you need to raise.
