People are in a panic to find older bats that are still allowed . The newer ones are about equal in preformance, depends on what color your dd likes

My dd has been using the Catalyst for years and loves it. Although, last years coach had a new Stealth that she really liked too, so maybe as an early Bday present.

My DD currently uses the DeMarini Vendetta but am looking into the Miken Rain Light. Couple girls on her team are using those bats with great success. She likes the drop drop on the bat. Will try out those bats during our next indoor tournament and then start shopping.

I honestly don't remember seeing hardly any of the Vedetta's...

Good pop? (what's a comparable bat?)

I forgot to add the Schutt's to the list...

Vendetta, not only did DD hit her first home run as 12u this past year with the Vendetta, she hit 3. Good enough pop.

DD will be using the CF3 -9 33/24. last year she used the CF3 -10 34/24, did a great job with it. The bat is durable and has a ton of pop. We are going to the -9 and dropping an inch maybe it will give her a little more speed through the zone. Although, she really has no problem getting around now.

Physics majors please advise. Why is dropping the inch preferred to dropping the ounce?

I'm thinking weight is weight, and if Linear hitter is pulling KNOB into Whip/Contact wouldn't pulling 1 less ounce be much more productive then pulling 1 less inch, as weight on the longer bat wouldn't be felt until Whip which is REALLY late in the course of the swing. Am I mis-understanding where the OUNCE is actually causing drag in the swing? Or maybe logically it is both.

So if all things are equal between PULL & WHIP drag wouldn't the weight be what we want to reduce instead of length? Again, I Don't Know but can someone explain the physics behind this?

My daughter was using a 32/22 Schutt and absolutely loved it, very durable and good pop once broken in. Then I bought her a 04 rockettech and that is her new favorite. Only problem is she is about to outgrow it. Anyone know if the 33/24 Schutt is endloaded like the rockettech or is it more balanced? Anyways I voted rockettech cause she will still be using it this year.

How does the Schutt hold up in cooler temps? (50's & 60's)

If you can get a decent composite for under $100 and use during cooler temps, I think that would be a good idea to add to the bag! :)

(and save those higher end composites for the 'dog days' of summer when it's warmer!)

POLL: BIG LEAD FOR THE DEMARINI'S!!!!

We have two. Rip It Force for the high school cold weather and her composite when it is warm outside. As a slapper we go with the length , over weight.

That was why we bought the $30 Schutt. It seems to hold up well under cooler temps.
DD can go through a lot of $30 Schutts. She still prefers the Rain, just not on the tee or in the cages.

Schutt had a heavy end loaded model at one time. It was a knock off of the R/T it was a bronze color, had a realy nice feel to it

All the hitting experts I have consulted have advised me that if the DD likes the feel of an end load and can maintain hand path and bat speed with end load, then the Rocket Tech is the way to go. I sure hope so because that is what my 13U DD is going with this year.
