We all know Lakewood is darn good. Who are the teams and how do you think the rest will fair this upcoming season.

Amanda-Clearcreek, Bishop Ready, Bloom-Carroll, Cardington-Lincoln, East Knox, Elgin, Fairbanks, Grandview Heights, Heath, Highland (Sparta), Johnstown-Monroe, Liberty Union, Madison Plains, Mount Gilead, Northmor, Northridge, North Union, Pleasant, River Valley (Caledonia), Utica, West Jefferson.

I see North Union as the team to beat this year with West Jefferson and Ready in the mix

If there coach does what is right this year and plays her best Amanda Clearcreek will be right there. Only lost to Lakewood 2-0/. It was a darn good game. There pitcher was too good to deal with. Both of ACs pitchers return with a some big sticks. Like I said it all has to do with the coaching. There is alot of pressure on them to make some players happy wether they can do it or not.

I thought that Fredricktown and Worthington Christian moved down to D-IV. Also, I know that Berne Union moved up to D-III

What I posted earlier was from last year.

Yes Fredericktown and Worthington Christian are D4. Jonathan Alder jumps up to D2. Lots of moving this year.

With all the teams moving out of the division. Do you think that there will be some up and coming team that will surprise you.

I see North Union, Liberty Union, and Mt. Gilead being the teams to watch out for. Ready graduated the majority of their varsity. West Jeff graduated their stud pitcher and star infielder/hitter. Can they reload???

New-comer Berne Union always, year in and year out, has a stellar defense. Can they get offensive production? Sparta Highland...always a tough team. Johnstown graduated their stud pitcher and others. LK has the insight on the MOAC. I have heard thru the grapevine that Northmor has a stud 3rd baseman:).

More than likely that third baseman will have to pitch this year.

MOAC
Red
Pleasant will probably win Blue division behind the strong arm of Laser Aqua pitcher Kendall Lust. Offense will be a ?? as well as defense, especially when you don't get many balls hit to you. [Players to watch: Lust, Dune, Shaffer, Slob]

Cardington will be the team to watch. Lots of talent and depth. Not real strong in any single aspect but solid pitching, defense and hitting. If coach can keep the attitudes in check it should be a good season. [Players to watch: Parker, Parsons, both Minturns, Hamilton]

Mount Gilead graduated 6-7 starters but have a solid Soph. duo in Smith and Arnold to build around. Good speed and defense, but they are pretty young. [Players to watch: Smith, Arnold, Heacock, Wyatt]

Ridgedale will be much improved and will have quite a few upper classmen. Solid pitching but defense and hitting will be a question mark. Should have a nice run in D4 tourney. [Players to watch: Thacker, Wheeler, Galloway, Marshall]

Northmor will be extremely young, but alot of youthful talent that leads me to be optimistic for this year. Pitching will be the big question, and filling a few holes defensively. [Players to watch: Yeater, Hykes, Myers]

Blue
North Union has nearly everyone back and should easily win the Red Division, as usual.
[Players to watch: McMahan, Adams, Ridgeway, Conrad]

Elgin will be a sleeper in the Blue division. Very similar to Cardington in that they aren't real flashy but they are very consistent and make few mistakes. Coach Muselin and Bollinger really get the most out of their team. [Players to watch: Cox, Osborne, Haycook]

River Valley has a great Senior pitcher in Stacy that will keep them in most games. Will be pretty young in most positions and offense will be a question mark. Good team speed and a pretty decent coach that will get the most out of them. [Players to watch: Stacy, Badertscher, Hall, Klingel, Harville]

Highland has some ?? to fill with there pitching. Will probably start or rotate a couple of inexperienced Soph. pitchers. Solid bats and gloves but pitching will keep them from winning the Blue. Throw in the fact that they have a new coach, so it should be a growing experience. [Players to watch: Chapman, Rhoades, Denman, Stewart, Keen]

Buckeye Valley has a new coach as well. Start a lot of younger players with experience but they weren't very good offensively last year. Defense was shaky at times to, but will be alot better this year I'm sure. [Players to watch: Wade, Byers]

What does it take to become a "Stud" pitcher as a Freshman or Soph??? My personal opinion is that they pitch on travel teams at a very high level with a possibility of eventually pitching at the college level. Does this apply for these Nortrhridge pitchers?? If so I expect them to do very well.

yes these girls do play on a high level travel team and they will be pitching in college.the only thing they are lacking is a experienced coach.they have a new coach for this year and dont know anything about him. the two sophmores started varsity as freshman and they had a great season.

The Tatman cousins are the pitchers. One is a junior and the other is a sophomore.
The elder one pitched a great game against Lakewood at the districts. Only to lose 2-0.
Offense wasnt able to produce. Their DP had their only hit. That girl has a big stick. She came up big with the bat against alot of teams this past season. She put up some RBIs against Elgin and Grandview Heights to help them win the sectionals. The younger pitcher shut out Teays Valley's varsity to win 1-0. These two can pitch. Like I said it is all up to the coach. The right lineup they could dominate.

That is exactly what it takes. We are D2, and we have a stud pitcher who is a soph. We'll have another one in a couple more years if she continues to develop like she has.

MOAC: I would add Cornelius of Elgin and Rengert of River Valley to watch from the Buckeye Heat. Cardington did go 7-1-1 in the high school League indoor in Columbus. I think Brown to Highland . All of these kids play travel ball. The MOAC seems to have many kids playing travel ball, so the conference should be interesting. If I could just get my buddy a pitcher, so his dd could play third, they would be in the mix. We play Highland, River Valley and Pleasant in double hitters this year.

Well, here is my take. Eventhough only pitchers and catchers have reported, the teams have not even been determined yet. Hopefully these girls are coming out for this season.

Let's start with the Buckeye Division (not my DDs division, but we have to start somewhere). I do not know a whole lot about this division but I do know a few.

Canal Winchester: Toler and Nelson.
Bloom Carroll: Smith (C), go ahead and take that big lead off of 1st base.
Amanda: The Tatman cousins who pitch.

Cardinal Division

Fisher: a bunch of underclassmen that keep improving year after year. No real standout.
Millersport: Pohlman (P) and Barnes (C).
West Jeff: rebuilding, no real standout.
Berne Union: Not sure if they graduated yet, but they did have a sister act that was a pretty effective pitcher and catcher.
Liberty Union: Not much here. It would be safe to look past LU on the schedule:D. However, my favorite softballer does play here:D. All joking aside, pick your poison here. If you concentrate on any one or 2 players, the others will bite you in the butt. The returning Seniors Born, Hutton, Mandeville, Putnam, and Litzke; Junior Van Almsick; and Sophomore Klopfer

I do not know much about the Ohio Division. Only a couple of kids that I know of. Houk (C) from Lakewood will be their anchor this year. Go ahead, she dares you to take that big lead off of 1st. Gault, also from Lakewood will also be adding solidarity in the infield.
