CF, who does Clear Fork have this week? West holmes is at Ashland this week. Need to bounce back from losing to Dover and John Glenn this weekend.

They have Mans Sr. Was at the Clear Fork - Shelby Game. Thomas had them chasing her pitches. She pitched a great job, even with a sore back. . The Freshman from Shelby that pitched the first game is going to be a force. Her dad told me she is working with the KSU pitching coach. Tough game for the dd. First game set with the Clear Fork fans, Next with the Shelby fans. The Shelby catcher and her played travel ball together. So she had to cheer for her when she was up, but cheered for Taylor when she was pitching. It would have been nice to see #1 against #1, but my money would have been on Thomas. Both teams struggled hitting the ball against the better pitchers.

The freshman from Shelby is Mikala Miller - DD caught for her when she was 12 and dd was 10 - she was exceptional then and doing great now - can't wait to see her excel through high school - I think she still plays travel for the Ohio Warriors.

Her and the DD played 12U MOL high school ball they use to pitch against each other. Her dad and I were laughing about the Championship game that went 10 innings. Both of them had more K's then you could count. We won it one year and they won it one year.
I talked him into going with Jeff Ward as a pitching coach. She really had control problems when she was young. You can tell she has really worked hard at it.

I think the first run is an earned run, not positive but i will look at the book. Kylee led off the inning with a double then i think beasancon singled and Kylee went to third and then later ky came home on a wild pitch. Ill have to look at the book, but you have to remember a wild pitch doesnt go as an error.

Why would he change pitchers there? He almost got himself into trouble.

You and I and everyone else at the game still asking that ?. Why bring the JV pitcher in to pitch . . Hand sight is 20/20, but you don't put yourself in a position to lose the game. tribefan24, He only shows 4 hits last night, two in the last inning and only 1 error charged to Us. I thought we had more than 1 error? Your books are probably right.

It was 5-2 when he changed pitchers I dont get it. If it had been 8-0, or 10-2 then yes.

Kylee led of the 7th with a hard hit ball up the middle the pitcher deflected it to the 2nd baseman who threw her out. If she doesnt deflect it, its into center field for a single, then its 3 run homer and a tie ball game.

Im not saying we win from there but man you gotta ask
what were you thinking?

Like I said he had many upset players and parents after that one. Then went and yelled at them after the game for not hitting the ball, which made matters worse. If you are going to do something like this, do what Clear Fork did when they played Mansfield Sr. That is smart coaching to give them or a pitcher some playing time that might not see the rest of the year. Plus you are not running up the score.

Well looked at the book the 1st run has to be earned it happened just how I have it listed in the above post. It was a wild pitch not a past ball,it hit the dirt before the catcher ever got a glove on it.

Maybe a wake up call to someone?? Sometimes a loss is better than a win.. I don't understand the switch either.Who are the other 2 pitchers on Lex's varsity that don't get time on the mound? What was the score of Wednesdays game?

Lexington 7
Orrville 4
Back Up JR Collins
Back Up FR Pike, who pitched with Sharry when they played summer ball together.
I was not at last night's game, but from the feedback I got the Blue were not very professional. They start with telling the dd her 2008 Rip it Force is an illegal bat that she has used all year, but allow the same bat to be used by an Orrville Player. Her bat has the ASA approval stamp blurred due to use.
Probabaly have no idea about this site : ttp://www.asasoftball.com/about/certified_equipment.asp

Bat listed as : Rip-It Elite
FORC1

8/13/2008

Approved. Then some other really weird calls.
CF4315. What grade is Ries? That is what a smart coach does, pitch someone else to get some experience. Ferrell got hurt last night, since he wouldn't put in a courtesy runner. She twisted her ankle at home then struggled in the last 3 innings. Something else we don't understand. Ferrell is not the quickest of foot.

Reis is a junior, pitched JV last 2 years,we've been blessd with solid pitching for a number of years. Devin's a nice little pitcher, have not seen Pike pitch.Ferrell should have seen some time on the mound last year,I think we know what that was all about.

Orrville had 7 errors last night and 4 the night before, that comes with starting 4 freshman, 3 of them on the IF. Lexington is an average team, they had 8 hits all singles. Orrvilles pitcher kept the ball down and out of the power zone. When they(Lex) face a really good pitcher theyre in trouble. Their pitcher has above average fastball but nothing else when they face a good hitting team (which Orrville Isn't) theyre in trouble. She doesnt throw as hard as Holly did last year and she doesnt have the movement either. Being in div II I dont think that is going to help.

Well on a better note the Red Rider soph. M. johnson hit a 3 run homer last night. She now has 3 grand slams and a 3 run shot. pretty good for the soph. I know she has at least 1 other but it might have been a solo shot. If she played for Lex she might have 10 or 12 by now.

And if she faced any pitching at all this season she would have 0 grand slams and well probably 0 home runs peroid..... but great job feasting on that OCC weak pitching. lol

tribefan24. Interesting. What was that prior post of who is now playing the what if game! I heard that HR was a shot, how far over the fence was it? I guess Marion Pleasant is a bad team. Lust piches for the 18U lasers. We won 9-2. Clear Fork in two games we lost by 1 run each. I wouldn't put Clear Fork down as a bad hitting team. I think CF4315 would argue that. I wouldn't call either of those teams bad teams. How many hits did you have against Ferrell in the first game, if she is such a poor pitcher with only 7 shutouts? Madison 12-0, what was your score? Ask Norwalk who we beat 21-0 and Shelby who is ranked beat them by 1 run>? River Valley is not a bad hitting team and they got one hit against Ferrell . . We have only 2 seniors, so we have had our share of errors. I will admit our bats were not working last night, but with all the walks, it didn't matter. . But 2 HR and 2 2B in our first game., I think we can hit. I will let Lady_Knights tell you we lost 6-5 to Willard's starting SR pitcher. She beat Shelby and I wouldn't call her a weak pitcher. She pitched for him last year.
slapforhits: That I do agree with. The three best pitchers are gone from the OCC last year. Now many young pitchers, with two JR's . Thomas and Ferrell being the two best I have seen this year. Shelby found out how good Thomas can be. I guess we will let the results speak for themself, since anyone can check to see who we play outside the OCC . Mt Vernon , Marion Pleasant, , River Valley , Shelby , Willard, Highland. All have starting pitchers that pitch in travel ball., I guess we need to schedule tougher teams with better pitching like Canton CC and Smithville.
