yes, we did offer the Friday night games...we had 3 teams available.

There are just too many teams traveling, players were still in school,etc..

but boy was it a nice evening 80 degrees and sunny....

Where did that go, so fast....

Looks like we are getting our April showers in May!

Keeps raining like this on the weekends.. we are going to have to go to Friday all-nighter...LOL Don't tell George ( Our umpire scheduler), Terry. He'll be all in a tizzy about trying to schedule umpires for that ! :lmao:

Just dislike Sat morning rains.

Just talked to Terry...all 10U games will be cancelled today (Sat)..trying to get only 12U in. Call @ 2pm for update on 12U games...can play late tonight as well to get games in...

Waiting on scheduler to call with one...soon I hope. If not, I'm leaving at 2:10 as it is 1:15 minutes for me to drive there at the posted speed limits..LOL

Just hope we DON'T get sun.. as weather people said if the sun pops out.... weather could be rough later on tonight.. due to heating the air.

Radar looks good right now... Western Kentucky is getting pounded and hopefully when that moves Northeast.. that mass of storms miss us to the east. Blow wind blow !!!!!!

But, we do not want sun !!!! The sun will build up the storms where there were none before in the atmosphere.

For the tourney people..... My daughter is on a 10U team. Would it help for myself and possibly others to come over early tomorrow and help rake?

If 10U goes tomorrow, any raking help would be appreciated. The fields were unplayable at 300PM but major wet spots had been raked. Terry will know better tonite about their condition and make a decision. Five 12U teams decided they wanted to play so we set up 2 fields in the outfield grass and the teams are playing away--certainly not optimum but players seem to be enjoying it.

I was there a short while but I am basically useless since I have a severe lower back strain.

The weather looks good for the next several hours but forecast for tomorrow is not very encouraging---with the diamonds opened up the way they are, if it rains just a small amount, they will become unplayable.

The 1st Annual " Grass Ball Invitational" at Beavercreek is completed. The girls had a great time playing in the grass... just playing ball in general. :yahoo: The parents behaved and after watching the girls play... I think they too enjoyed "grass ball".

The umpires are not happy.. and not because of the games ( something else) and don't see many of the good ones returning if the situation doesn't get straightened out in the near future.

Until the matter is straightened out .. you might want to contact Marty at Pastime Park in Harrison and maybe he can give you that list of SOFGSA "rec" list of umpires that the USSSA State UIC sent him last year for his early tournaments... the ones everyone complained about in the threads. I'm sure he must be going back to that list again this year...


Dealt with Marty's umpires last year at Harrison. They were Terrible! One made a 10 year old cry at a tourney we played in. I wouldn't have let them do a t-ball game.
