A shout out to my DD of whom I'm very proud. What I have learned from her, dont let people tell you are not athletic enough, not fast enough and simply just not good enough. As she enters her last and final year of H.S, she has exceeded my expectations and those of many others, how you ask? By refusing, by working her a** off everyday and using negativity to drive her. She's refused to quit when others said she couldnt do it.

She has a couple D-I offers, several D-II's and others. It will ber her choice, she's deserved that opportunity to make it her choice.

She's currently in Florida on her own this week playing up at 18u and earned game MVP. This was a gut wrenching decision to send her alone, but one I felt was necassary, she will be on her own in college next year playing college ball somewhere without her daddy and biggest fan there to cheer her on. This is another step.

Kayla I love you and wish only the best kiddo. Go get em in Florida.

Very touching. What a great relationship!

Your DD is an example of Winston Churchill's entire speech at a university graduation went, "Never, never never give up!"

I had the upmost extreme pleasure of being Kayla's coach this year. She was the kind/type of player every coach would ever want on his/her team. Not only do the coaches look up to a player like this but so do her teammates. She did everything and then oh soooo... way more than you could ever imagine.

It is a player like this that you don't have to struggle with good thoughts and praise when being approached by a college coach asking about them. Actually you might not find enough time to tell them all the wonderful comments that you may have.

Kayla, I hope that you go far with your dreams and upcoming goals. Thank you for the most awesome year that I had, coaching you and the Stingrays. It's players like you and a few others along the way that make it so very difficult saying good-bye to coaching.

Be nice in five years watching her play for the Racers... wouldn't it? :D

Obviously, her determination is not stopping because she "made" it to college.

Give it everything you got, Kayla. Leave it on the field. :yahoo:

Dave, I am sure you will remember things like this for the rest of your life. It probably seems like yesterday she put on her first glove.

My daughter was in the same boat. There is something to being told you can't do something. Glad to see so many of these girls believing in themselves and proving the naysayers wrong.

I wish your daughter the best. Sounds like she truly deserves it.
