3-4 hour delay this am . rain.

Doom 95 got the worst possible draw . We are one of the 30-40 teams that have to play an extra game as compared to the other 100 teams. It's like a play in game . Don't know how that happened ==I'd think only teams that went 0-2 would suffer that , but anyway , the winner of our play in or extra game gets the Corona Angels. But our kids are up for the challenge.

scheduled to play Indy rebels in the opener. around noon or 1pm. MD

Good luck Dan. Many times an extra game can be a good thing.....it gets the teams blood moving and their reactive senses ignited.

all other ohio teams avoided the extra game.

Stingrays play the Wash. Hustle
Doom 96 play Texas Glory
Lasser Black get the East Cobb bullets
Buckeyte Heat got a very good draw --they went 0-2 in pool play but ended up with La . Patriots and avoided any powerhouse teams in the next round (ill outlaw -wash sidewinders winner)

Intensity gets the winner of oregon thunder- Texas lib Kruisers (tough team)

^^^Dan the La. Patriots are typically a USA/ASA top 13th-25th finisher. Not familier with there (14U) team, but usually on par with the Glory and East Cobb programs...most likely better then Wash Hustle as I've never heard of them.

They have 28 play-in games to get down to 128 teams in the winners bracket. That means 56 teams have a play-in game and only 39 teams went 0-2. That said, it looks like they lumped all the #3 and #4 seed teams together because 28 of each seed have play-in games.

I'm assuming yesterday's rain delay kept them from having a normal draw. We're probably going to play another SoCal team in the first round. I also see first round games between #1 seeds.

I haven't seen the La Patriots, but I know they are normally very good. I did watch the Illinois Outlaws, and they are a good 14-U team, but not a threat to do much at ASA Nationals. I know the Sidewinders quite well. Sidewinders are always very good and this team would be a top 3 team in Ohio at 14-U.

I also know the Wash. Hustle. Again, a solid team, but not a threat to go far in this tournament. I would say they match up pretty well with the Heat 95. In fact, I'm getting ready now to go watch that Hustle-Stingrays game.

The Ohio Intensity will have its hands full with the Kruzers team from Texas. I watched them beat the Oregon Thunder (Fireworks 14-U champs this year) 5-0. The Thunder pitcher was throwing 63-65 and has Oregon State and other big D1s looking at her. The Kruzers are just a very good all-around team.

I was watching Doom 95 and they were up 3-1 on someone in the 5th inning when I had to leave about an hour ago.

Lasers Black got a tough draw, likely facing So Cal Athletics if they win.

Shamrocks and San Diego Power Surge each have incredible pitching. Shamrocks girl clocked at 66 by the Missouri asst. coach and the Power Surge have two huge girls who are just incredibly good. Power Surge girls don't throw quite as hard as the Shamrocks pitcher, but are probably better pitchers with their movement. Arizona, UCLA, etc, etc, there to watch the Power Surge pitchers. I commented that if I could get one of those pitchers at my Div. III college, we would win four national titles and wouldn't have to practice or do anything. We could just all show up for the games and pass out uniforms right before the first game.

doom 95 comes from being down 1-0 thru 5 to get a 4-2 win over Indy Rebels . tough grind it out type win.

Corona Angels at 10;45 tonight.

socal dad --thanks for the explanation on the seeding, I though I counted only 38-40 teams that had to play in the extra round. Just bad luck to have the extra game , then have the CA95 waiting on you. sounds more like what a 4 seed should get. MD

Intensity lost 1-0 to American Liberty Kruzers. Great game. Kruzers pitcher was throwing 61-65 and had Arizona watching her. Intensity got a runner to second in 7th inning. I'd guess Intensity had maybe two hits and Kruzers had maybe three.

Lisa Fernandez and many others were watching the Shamrocks pitcher warm up a little bit ago. After seeing how much attention she is getting, I'm feeling better about the Heat having two runners on base against her in the 6th and down only 2-0.

I saw Doom 96 just beat the Texas Glory 3-0 in a very good game. Lasers Black will play in about an hour, which will be about a midnight start. Doom 95 should be playing right about now. I watched Stingrays lose to the Washington Hustle 11-1. Not a good game for Stingrays; I'm sure they are normally much better than they showed today.

just back to the hotel room. Doom 95 fell 6-0 to the Corona angels. When you are playing at 1;30 am and Wash U , Tn, and Arizona is in attendence you can bet your opponent is pretty worthy !

0-0 thru 4 , just couldnt hold them down. great team . MD

Intensity Lost 1-0 to Texas Liberty Krusiers. K Minney threw a great game. another terrible draw for an ohio team. Intensity as a 1 seed draws one of the only 4 seeds that could play with them.

Of note was Arizona's assit. coach watching Texas's pither. clocked her at 65.

MD is right this is a 14u national and it is crawling with major DI coaches. As for our game we won 9-1 over the East Cobb Bullets-Johnson

Dan - How is the Doom teams doing up now? Tell ya brother, wish I could be there also watching the best 14u can bring in the country. Must be a very special treat to be watching ball out there for ya.

Intensity lost to Cal Cruisers 3-2, or maybe 4-3, I forget. A couple of defensive misplays hurt. Actually each team had misplays that cost a couple of runs. Intensity left runners on base seemingly every inning.

Intensity is done, really thought they would do better , tough, tough draws . Doom 95 won there game . Lasers Black and Doom 96 still in winners Bracket right now! Stingrays Wiley Is done . Great experience though from what im hearing . These 13 and 14 yr. yr old groups can play some Ball.

Just got done watching Lasers Black. They had a 1-0 lead most of the way, but lost to the Mississippi Coastal Chaos 5-1. They have wireless here at the ballpark. I think Doom 96 getting ready to play sometime tonight. Atlanta Vipers girl just hit a grand slam in top of first against Washington Hustle.

Watched OC Batbusters beat Cal Grapettes 4-0 a bit ago. Grapettes coach got tossed. Buckeye Heat play Grapettes tomorrow at Noon.

As was stated above, this is a great atmosphere for softball tonight. Eight fields, great teams and loud crowds. It is just excellent softball. The Coastal Chaos that beat Lasers Black had beat the So Cal A's yesterday in 10 innings in the winner's bracket that was such a good game the teams got together for a picture afterwards.

Looks like most of the college coaches left after pool play from what I can tell. That leaves Whitworth University as the only college here! If only...

Buckeye Heat 3-2 win earlier over Heartland Havoc was a great game that saw the Heat hold on for the win after the Havoc got 2nd and 3rd and one out in the 7th. Cooper struck out the Havoc cleanup hitter on a change and then got a pop out to end the game.
