The Ohio Classics annual fall tournament will be held the first weekend in October (2 &3) in Granville at the Racoon Valley facility and Granville HS. Tournament web site is www.ohioclassics96.com All forms are available there.

Entry fee is $375 for a four game gaurantee and there is no gate fee or parking fee this year. Age groups 10U, 12U and 14U will play three pool games and then single elimination. We will award ASA Eastern National bids to these age groups. The 14U games will start later on Saturday to avoid school sport conflicts. There will not be a 16U or 18U division this year.

Age designation is January 1, 2011 however you may use your 2010 ASA Sanction number.

Registration will be limited to six 10U teams, twelve 12U teams and twelve 14U teams. We reserve the right to alter this distribution but we will cut at 30 teams total.

If you have any problems with the forms or have questions you may send a note to classicpride@hughes.net . Forms must be returned with payment by September 22 to be considered for entry into this tournament.

We look forward to a rain free and exciting weekend of softball

Just to confirm, you are going to set 14U at 43' mound? If so, may I ask why?

Did a little checking on the 14U pitching distance for ASA. Seems they have not moved it back to 43' for that age group yet. I will check and verify - if it is still at 40' then that is where we will pitch from for the 14U group.

They will not change it to 43 until November meetings but it sounds like it will change at that time. Most of those girls are going into HS and may as well get used to it now.

Bump for the Classics. After back to back rain last year... I wish you only 72 degree weather and a lot of sunshine for you this year. You deserve it !!!!

What a great effort by the Classics last year to get in their event. :yahoo:

Thanks Tim

You are welcome. Absolutely amazing what the Classic org did to finish a tournament with "their" name on it last year. Unheard of actually in my opinion. What an effort !!!

Last year's teams should be right back there playing this year in my opinion.. because they KNOW what they are going to get.. A first-class event all the way !!!!!

Updated the first post to reflect a change in the location for this tournament. We are moving the tournament to the Granville area and will use the Racoon Valley complex along with the two fields at Granville HS. This gives us seven fields to work with verses the four we had at Pickerington. Provides us with a lot of positives including more fields and fewer restrictions on field work in the event of rain this year.

Granville is convenient to the Easton area via SR 161 which is now four lanes all the way into the Easton area. We will be posting the forms on the web site with in the next couple of days and will have motel information up soon there after.

As for teams entered - lots of inquires and a few forms from 12U and 14U teams but no payments thus far. There have been no emails to me from 16U or 18U teams but there has been some talk among coaches with our coaches. Not sure what that translates into!!

If interested in a form, please send a note to classicpride@hughes.net

We will not be having a 16U/18U division this year. There is a big showcase tournament at Berliner same weekend that has attracted most of the teams.

Just gives us more room for the 10s, 12s and 14s!!!
