Thanks CGS!

Shorty is working the Sat times - we just wanted to get all FRIDAY games, times and pool play assignments out now so folks can make plans for Friday night.

If you are not playing Friday - you will be playing Sat at 8am or 9:30am ...

Sat times/diamonds will be online tomorrow according to Shorty.

Playing early Saturday is still better than Friday night with finals at school and 2 1/2 hour drive. Thanks for the hard work. Looks like we got our work cut out for us in our pool, should be fun.

@ OP:

The Friday times are in the Pool brackets. As Doug has indicated, they are working to get the Saturday times posted.
Just noticed you two play each other first game Saturday! Awesome - my DD catches for Pifer 95 - CGS you all better bring your 'A' game! :) - (nothing like talkin a little smack with a lawyer)

The only downside is that it lumped SWO teams and N. OH teams together more than we all would like ... but hey, it will be fun and they will all seperate into bracket play for game on!

Hopefully the weather rains it's self out before this event. It would be a shame to have to short this tournament in any way and prevent some great teams from playing. I have been zoned out looking at the pool brackets for an hour excited about all the great match ups. I figured if I look at it long enough my first game and pool bracket assignment might change. :) As you can see there are no breaks for the Hawks teams on scheduling we are all playing some great teams.

Good luck to all and I hope we all come through it dry and healthy!

This will definitely not be a tournament for the weak of heart. Each game is probably going to be a grind for the teams. Good Luck to all of them!

Not to mention that this is basically the 1st 16U tournament of the season and the first time many teams will be playing together in tournament play!! It should be really fun and interesting for all!

We are looking to secure another set of fields near Kettering park - a quad that will allow us to play the 16u PP on Saturday - due to not being able to play much Friday we need to get more games in on Saturday ... that is why we have not posted the Sat time yet.. just plan on playing early, often and late Saturday!

Update: The weather is looking better on the long range, some chance of rain Fri, Sat/Sun looking good! Shorty asked me to pass on that we will concentrate on getting a FULL Bracket played .. if by chance we have rain on Fri or Sat morn that puts us in a bind we will go with 1 PP game and straight to double elimination as scheduled.. we must start dbl-elim on time if at all possible - we have 109 games to get in from Sat noon forward!

Just one more meat grinder! The cool thing about this is that I would think the better 'teams' - ones with depth at pitching and other positions will best manage thru the long Sat and Sun championship bracket...

I just did a test of the Tourney One Call System to all the head coaches that we will be using next week. If you did not get a call - or want an additional phone added - PM me please.

We are working hard to get the diamonds assigned. We lost the ability to play about 40 games on Friday due to schools still being in .. we have secured a second close by park - we will be holding the 16u games there - it is a great 4 diamond quad, with lights and fences! It is only 5 min away from the other fields. Teams playing Fri night are not affected - they will play at the same time as listed.

We will have the 'final' pp/bracket times out on Monday.. THANK YOU ALL FOR your patience .. this is going to be a lot of fun and some great softball...

Again, please PM me with any questions you may have.

Ok - Big Update. I met with Clyde for 3 hours today ... he has decided to set the PP to a single game and here is why. Because this is a National Qualifer - he can not set game times to anything less than 1:40 - go to ITB until a winner. That means he has to schedule all bracket games to a 2 hour window. That eat's up diamonds as you know.

So, each team will get a single PP game - the ones on Friday will go as scheduled - everyone else will go Sat 8am or 9:30am. PP will not affect seeding - he is creating the brackets for us tonight and we will proceed right to bracket/dbl-elim on Sat morning. Again, as we lost 5 rounds of games on Friday by not being able to play before 6:30pm we lost too many games to make up on Saturday. I got a call tonight - 2 16u teams are struggling for players due to school being in and HS games to be played.

Even with these changes we still have to secure 2 other 4-diamond fields to get all the games in.. 12u games will be at Delco Park, 10/14u will be at Kettering Fields, and 16u will be at Action Sports. The fields are all fairly close - no hotel changes needed.

I have talked to several coaches and they all told me that rather than play 2 PP games on Sat and burn players and pitchers - they would rather play 1 PP warm-up game with no outcome on the seeding and then just get after it in dbl-elim.

I will stop by and get the Sat game times for PP and Bracket Play in the morning. I hope to have them posted by noon tomorrow.

Thanks.

Got nothing..Never had any problems with other tournaments mass emails.

Also having run my own tournaments for 9 years dont understand all the delays and problems on scheduling..Now less than a week out my 4 game guarentee is now 3 games. Doesnt make sense. You advertise this was a Friday tournament start. If people cant play dont enter. 64 teams...eliminate 1 pool game thats 32 games x $70 thats $2240 you just saved in umpires fees.

I hear you about not being able to play on Friday .. but this was a freakish year with the weather.. I have a kid on my team who is in school until June 10th! They have to pull her for 4 days to go to Oklahoma... I am emailing you the emails you missed. I also posted them under the Update in the last minute tourney section here.

I just looked - I sent you am email here: Did you get that one?
