I an the Breakers would like to thank all the teams that participated in this year's ASA Maple Leaf.

We got off to a rough start when we got 1.5" of rain on Friday just about three hours before game time, basically turning all 9 fields into giant mud puddles. While things were quite crazy at points on Saturday, with delays and field moves, we were able to get all 99 pool games in. Unfortunately, we were unable to make everyone happy despite our best efforts. We sure tried though!!!

Great Fields, great people, horrible communication. Once the Breakers figure out that part it will a top-notch tournament.

@Waxworks... I am interested in hearing about your reasons for the communications being classified as horrible. I am always looking to improve our tournaments and would truly value your input.

I will say that communications were challenging in the early morning hours on Saturday and I could have updated the rainout line a little more frequently, but beyond that I am not sure where else to focus some efforts. Your input would be helpful as I don't experience things the same as those participating in the tournament. If you prefer, you can email me your thoughts at TD@BreakersFP.org. Thanks in advance for taking the time to provide feedback.

The only feedback i could provide was in regards to re-scheduling. When the first couple games on field 2 were cancelled, they should not have been thrown to the end of the night. This made our 9am game a 9:30 game. Got to the fields at 8am, didnt play our first game until 2pm'ish and then didnt leave until 11pm'ish
3 games over 15 hours is uncalled for....

That is a fair evaluation and I apologize for my short sightedness when I moved those games to the end of the evening. I was going a million miles an hour trying to get things going and may not have thought that through completely. I assumed that with such a long break that folks would have left and came back, but that's what happens when I assume. Thanks again for bearing with us and the weather calamity, we always strive to ensure that our tournaments are a good experience.

The brackets should be up later this evening. I had hoped to work on them a bit last night, but I was wiped by the time I got home.

What really bothers me most is it cost me about $100 every time my daughter batted since her and the wife kept going to the mall in between games.

With some of the kids have a 3 hour round trip so you definitely didn't want to do that twice in one day.

It's the weather, what can you do. I'm sure it had to have an impact on parking as well with 20 or so cars x 4 teams hanging around all day........ Those 80 spots would have come in handy.

Maybe a free shuttle from one of the nearby businesses would help the parking issue

Doug has always ran solid tournaments. No matter whom you are, if it rains and you are a TD it has to be a really tough job to do!
