Re: PCBA/Poland Pride 2007 NSA World Series Qualif
Very nice tornament. Nice fields, hard working ground crews, amenities (tarps!), food ... bacon & eggs? - are you kidding me?!? ... yum ?
.
All the credit & praise goes out to the Valley Extreme Blue. What a crew of rocket launchers jacking the ball all over the field all weekend. Fun to watch them play - even versus good pitching they find a way to put the ball in play, go the other way (HARD!) with outside pitching, etc. Congrats on a well deserved championship. Congrats to the Extreme 12's and coach Kiser as well - good to see all that old Sapphire 10u experience paying off ?
.
Lasers Silver made the Extreme Blue earn it though, and continued to grow in the process. Great to see the girls battle hard, and get up off the turf after getting knocked down a few times versus some fine talent and well coached teams. Congrats to Silver for showing character, togetherness, and spirit in fighting back all weekend. The lumps will heal, and they will continue to grow.
What a collection of talent and competition in Poland though. Just so many good hard playing talented players in the "valley" area, and so many good teams showing up to battle with them, on any given day lots of teams could have challenged for the championship at this tournament. With the state tourney "graciously" releasing players to their travel teams, what a difference a week can make for some teams. Hard to imagine wanting to be anywhere else other than "in the valley" this weekend for good solid competition ?

Special thanks and acknowledgement to the coach of the Reign (Jim?, also "Bone"
, for his classy sportsmanship & care Sunday morning when dd did a half gainer (with a full twist) rounding 3rd, nothing serious thankfully, will be fine. Appreciate the sincere interest and and assistance in making sure she was okay. Another reminder of the "big picture." Your girls are going to have fun, and learn a lot this summer on the road. Good luck building your program. Nice talking with you all, ... classy coaches and kids.
