Good job SILVER!

Wish I could have been there for the nail biting finals (but did have continuous play-by-play action via cell phone)!
Looking forward to this weekend.

Very nice tornament. Nice fields, hard working ground crews, amenities (tarps!), food ... bacon & eggs? - are you kidding me?!? ... yum ?:) .

All the credit & praise goes out to the Valley Extreme Blue. What a crew of rocket launchers jacking the ball all over the field all weekend. Fun to watch them play - even versus good pitching they find a way to put the ball in play, go the other way (HARD!) with outside pitching, etc. Congrats on a well deserved championship. Congrats to the Extreme 12's and coach Kiser as well - good to see all that old Sapphire 10u experience paying off ?;) .

Lasers Silver made the Extreme Blue earn it though, and continued to grow in the process. Great to see the girls battle hard, and get up off the turf after getting knocked down a few times versus some fine talent and well coached teams. Congrats to Silver for showing character, togetherness, and spirit in fighting back all weekend. The lumps will heal, and they will continue to grow.

What a collection of talent and competition in Poland though. Just so many good hard playing talented players in the "valley" area, and so many good teams showing up to battle with them, on any given day lots of teams could have challenged for the championship at this tournament. With the state tourney "graciously" releasing players to their travel teams, what a difference a week can make for some teams. Hard to imagine wanting to be anywhere else other than "in the valley" this weekend for good solid competition ?;) .

Special thanks and acknowledgement to the coach of the Reign (Jim?, also "Bone"), for his classy sportsmanship & care Sunday morning when dd did a half gainer (with a full twist) rounding 3rd, nothing serious thankfully, will be fine. Appreciate the sincere interest and and assistance in making sure she was okay. Another reminder of the "big picture." Your girls are going to have fun, and learn a lot this summer on the road. Good luck building your program. Nice talking with you all, ... classy coaches and kids.

I couldn't be there on Sunday, but congratulations to all of the teams that played late into the day on Sunday. ?Sorry I missed ?your DD's "half-gainer with the full twist", Pickledad. ?I understand that there were multiple Silvers displaying their diving abilities. ?Wish I could have seen them all.

I would like to thank the Pittsburg Pride coaches for their complements to the Silver that I overheard on Saturday. ?Very classy, guys.

By the way, Happy Birthday Coachdad!! ;D

Looking forward to Akron!

Silver7,

There were indeed multiple dirty uniforms on Sunday, including this one kid with a perpetual smile ( ;)) and a a broken hand looking for a way to help, pinch running and diving around the cather's tag for a key run early in the semi. At least "that" kid appeared to dive on purpose, LOL, ?::).

Thanks for ratting out Coachdad, on his 29th birthday (again ?;)).

BTW, too good of a brown-nosing opportunity to pass up, but it must be said - Great job by Coachdad, and his assistants JB & MW, and also the parents, in bringing the "team" along, and together. Most of all, great job by the girls responding, and rebounding.

Lets not forget about the 10U Valley Sting who capped off the day by beating Valley Extreme 11-5 to prevent the "sweep"! These two battled Saturday with Extreme winning by one. Sunday saw excellent pitching, hitting , coaching and all the fundamentals of the game come together for the Sting. Great Job by all of the girls, your hardwork paid off!!!

Nice job Valley Extreme 14u Blue in winning this tournament. Nice hitting and pitching. Heard your team is still missing a few players, if that is true it must be nice. Pleasure playing all the teams this weekend. Good Luck to all the teams.

To PCBA/Poland Pride

AGAIN a great run tourney!!!!! Bill and the guy run a very good early event. This is our 3rd and last year (moving up to 16U)to participate in this tourney. I can only hope that teams that can play in the early events should put this one on your calanders for next year.

Looker
You are absolutely correct as we were missing two of our players on Sunday and one additional player(total of 3) on Saturday. I,m extremely proud of my players. We had ladies playing hurt and exhausted from proir commitments and we did a great job.

To all of the competition
We played 6 games this weekend 3 against Laser teams and 2 against Pittsburgh Power teams. Where can you get this type of competition this early in the season.

Congrat to the lady laser silver. As I told you on Sunday that was an exciting game and I just might have to make time in Akron to watch your match up with the Ohio(not little!!! I wont make that mistake again) Slammers. This should be agreat matchup.

Valley Extreme

What a weekend!!!! 14U Blue,12URed and 10U all in the finals at Poland. And also our 11U team had a good showing at Stow.
WAY TO GO EXTREME!!!!!!!!

Bill,
I agree with everything you said. This is an excellent tournament and a great job by the tournament committee. Our Valley Extreme teams played very well this week. Hopefully, we will improve each week.

Congratulations to the Valley Extreme on their championship. The u14 bracket was filled with tough competition and this was perhaps the strongest field of teams for a mid-May tournament that I have experienced. There seems to be a lot of strong U14 teams this year. Should be some great games over the next few months!

Thank you the PCBA hosts and umps. Very well run tournament. Would recommend it highly to anyone seeking an early challenge.

Congrats to the Valley Extreme Red 12U on their championship. They are one of the best 12U teams that I've seen so far this year.

Also saw the start of the Pitts Power Sheppard vs Valley Extreme Red 14U game but it was drizzeling pretty good Saturday night and I left. If they finished, does anyone know what the final score was? Also someone said they both were the younger teams from their organizations, if true they will be really tough later in the season.

Valley Extreme and Lasers Orange game in the finals was a very good game as well. Both had very good pitchers and tight defense.

That was a good 14u semi game between Lasers Orange & Valley Extreme - wasn't it 0-0 till late in the game? Could have gone either way.

Chain Reaction looked good over the weekend also. Lasers Silver played well in that semi though, although CR is ALWAYS tough, and hits the ball hard. They are going to have a good season, lots of respect for them.

Valley Sting looked good over the weekend too, shows what can happen I guess - the "any given game" thing. Looked like world beaters Saturday night, and was expecting them to be around in the afternoon on Sunday. Was this the same Valley Sting 14u that was at Massillon the week before Poland, or a different one??

Ohio Ice is always tough. A team that you might hold down for a while and then Whammo, couple of hits and they are off on a roll.

Several Pittsburgh teams had their moments as well, saw the Shepard team give Val Extreme Blue a tussle before a couple of bombs were launched. Pride took out a tough hard hitting Sting team. Lots of other good teams making "ground meat" out of each other.

Had to dodge softballs "between" the fields at Massillon, this past weekend in Poland you find yourself dodging them in the outfield, sometimes 20-30 feet beyond the fence ? .

Congrats to all the teams. Hard to believe that a few of them are still waiting for a few players to free up ?:-? . Mix in some really nice teams like Lasers Green, the older Ohio Ice team, MVX from southwest Ohio, some tough central Ohio teams, and others from around the state and it will be interesting to watch this year. Should be a fun division. Good luck to all.

It was a very good weekend of tough competition. ?The Lasers Orange and Valley Extreme Blue game was 0-0 until the bottom of the 6th when the Blue scored 2 runs on timely hitting. ?We ran out of time in that inning in a hard fought game. ?Tough pitching and defense on both sides. ?I'm sure we'll see each other again throughout the summer. ?

Chain Reaction and Valley Sting also looked very good. ?Very classy teams and well coached, too. ?The Silvers and Pitt Power-Shepard & Floreak had good weekends as well. ?It was an excellent weekend of competition for such an early tournament. ?

We are looking forward to the remaining season and wish the best of luck to everyone! ?
