Ohio Thunder 04 formerly Mason Thunder will be hosting private tryouts in advance of public tryouts for those players interested in locking down a spot early. We have filled a few spots on this team for next season already with very talented players who play key positions, however we still have spots available for players who play ANY position. The public tryout dates and times will be announced soon, however we will schedule a private, individual tryout with any player who wants to showcase her skills exclusively before tryouts. We have received a lot of interest and a few private tryouts setup already. Our vision for this team is to be one that we assemble and try to keep together for several years into the future. We are looking for good athletes who have the basic skills necessary to improve and enhance their game. We will drill heavily on the fundamentals of the game early on. This would include base-running, bunting, catching and throwing, positioning on the field, etc. We are looking for kids with great attitudes that have supportive parents that are going to contribute to positive atmosphere we are looking to establish. We are looking for girls who will welcome the instruction that we will provide. We also want girls who are committed to getting better away from our practices as well. This would mean girls who are putting work in on the side either with their parents, or personal hitting, fielding, or pitching coaches which we would highly recommend. We have a few very important pieces of the puzzle already in place as we look towards next season. We feel very good about the kind of team we are going to have. We will begin our fall program shortly after tryouts. Our fall program will consist of a combination of practices, scrimmages, and tournaments. We will continue to get work in outdoors as long as the weather allows us to. We will continue to train throughout the fall and winter at our indoor facility in Mason, OH. We plan on playing a challenging schedule next summer that will consist of a combination of mostly local to semi-local tournaments, and a few tournaments that will require hotel stays.
