If a girl is rostered in ASA rec ball as 12-u, can she play 10-u travel ball as long as she is age eligible? We have a girl playing on our 10-U travel team that will turn 11 in April, but wants to play 12-U rec ball this spring. Can she play 10-U travel if she is already rostered 12-U first?

Yep!

Our dd has done the same in the past years, where she plays up in league spring and summer ball and stays at her age in travel ball.

actually playing up in rec is recommended from most 10u travel teams

and some experienced and older 10u's I've seen/played against could play at 14 Rec level and do well there too. I could use a couple girls like that on my squad :p

I believe that happens quite frequently. I have never heard of a kid being penalized for that. I know there are kids in our local rec league who play up and then play in their appropriate age group during travel ball.

bambam is right. We had a girl last year that pitched 10u for us and unbelievably pitched 12u for another team. Quite surprisingly she was still our No.1 pitcher and had no real signs of this affecting her.
