Yes the Roadrunners will be playing down in Owensburg Kentucky this up coming weekend. Teams from all over the South will be there. But I really find it funny how people only look at the Roadrunners lose against the Rapture and not the 4 wins vs the Stingrays and the 12-2 win vs the Lasers. But let the season play out and we will see cause playing outdoors is a totally different game.

The roadrunners are a good team. They hit top to bottom. With that being said, their loss on any one day is not a knock on them. What no one is talking about is that they Beat Stingrays 1-0, 2-0, and 3-0. That is their wins. Stingrays beat them 13-0 in the finals in pitch for the cure. Both teams will battle all year. When they play, it is intense!!!!

Enjoy the time you have at 10s and 12s talk smack, pound your chest and show your TEAM spirit because unfortunately by the time you get to 16s the whole team pride thing goes out the window it becomes a whole different monster filled with a whole bunch of I did and my kid did this and going here......
Personally I would take the excitement of OUR TEAM is better then your team at 10s over the all about me mentality at 16s..

Yeah I am not sure why some are mocking 10u. Yes the players, coaches, and parents are excited to get the season underway. Even college and Pro Sports talk about who the better teams are and "pound their chest". I guess it is looked upon by a few on here as immature or being rookies in the travel ball world. I guess these same 10u players, coaches, and parents will one day be "mature" enough to grow up and come back and ridicule the new 10u class.

Man are you completely wrong. I've been around some amazing 16u teams and never heard or saw any of this.

Have to totally agree with you. I think that at least in my DD's experience, 16u is where the intensity and team pride peaks. Her 16u team had 8 out of 12 girls committed and you would never hear parents or kids brag about it, because frankly they understood that being a D1 recruit means nothing when you are up to bat with a girl on second, 2 outs and 2 strikes. What's important is getting that hit and delivering.
I totally love hearing about 10u teams and up and coming athletes. Don't stop, please! I guess the argument about who's the best 10u team in the area will be settled July 10th in Cbus

WOW!!Thank you everyone for all the kind words about my DD. I'm one proud mom! I'm sure she would appreciate it too! However, she will not know about any of it! She loves being a leader on that field, but I can promise you she does not do it all for herself she does it for the love of the game, her coaches, and teammates! I sure hope that what they say about 16u is false! That would mean that the game I loved playing has drastically changed. Can't wait to see everyone at Spano! No doubt there are many talented 10u players/teams. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!

I give you and your DD credit, lots of hard work to get good. Hopefully for your sake and hers she stays with it. Some of the better pitchers we knew at 10 and 11 have given up playing at all, for various reasons. Good Luck.

Well after all the good/bad post I think come Spano it's going to be what sounds like a 1 team race (Stingrays) with some good teams coming in 2nd. And again good luck to all these fine young teams!

Great post and don't worry about 16U; not everyone has the same experiences! Good luck this year!

Hi, Bekah, do you have a video of your daughter pitching that you'd be willing to share? My daughter pitches for a 10U team, and she's been working on mechanics, would like to see what kind of stride and mechanics she has with that fast of a speed. My daughter has been trying to stride out farther, but it seems to mess up her accuracy when she does. Also, any specific drills that you would recommend? Thanks!

Yep! Softball Games are are decided by adults on the Internet! Completely sane logic don't let anybody tell you different!
