I'd like to know how fast these pitcher are throwing.

Stingrays pitcher is Currently throwing between 52-53 add in a nasty change up, great accuracy, and working breaking pitches she is a tough one to hit!

Yes the Roadrunners will be playing down in Owensburg Kentucky this up coming weekend. Teams from all over the South will be there. But I really find it funny how people only look at the Roadrunners lose against the Rapture and not the 4 wins vs the Stingrays and the 12-2 win vs the Lasers. But let the season play out and we will see cause playing outdoors is a totally different game.

Hey Coach we get your record and you beat Lasers 12-2 and Stingrays 4 times this year. I was just saying facts that you guys got beat up in Tiffin. Another rumor I heard last evening was this Flame thrower from Stingrays mother use to be a Laser, how the heck did she end up playing for stingrays and kicking lasers butts yesterday??

Lmao.....now I am a coach!!! Sure wish I had time to coach. I honestly don't think you like it when anybody says anything negative toward the Laser's. As for the Stingrays pitcher she has the right to play wherever she wants to play. Maybe her mom was a Laser I don't know but the kid is good enough to play on any team in the USA!!

Ok this is it for me, I was just wanting to hear who would be in the races come Spano going into Spring/Summer. I am no way affiliated with Lasers as I called the Roadrunners coach back in mid November asking about my daughter feeling in for his team dwn South in December. I actually watched Roadrunners handle Stingrays and Miss USA as you just called her up in North Ridgeville. I personally think that day and the only day I saw them play that Roadrunners pitcher was better. Just a FYI a pitcher is only as good as what she has behind her. And from what text I got from Wizards people is shed the real deal but they (Stingrays) better have help as the hot summer will beat any pitcher in the heat! Good luck to all teams the rest of the winter and into the spring and summer!

If you are working breaking balls at 35 feet you are wasting your time.

Why didn't Lasers pick you up?

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you 100%. I agree it is tough to make a ball break at 35ft, but it can be done! You can't just look at 1 yr you plan for the future which next year at 12u you need movement. So wasting our time I would disagree. Yes, I played for Lasers in my day, and I won't get into why she ended up where she did. It was just the right fit!

To start this kind of thread is a little crazy already.. There are 4 or 5 teams listed here that are top notch, that will battle it out week in and week out, the winner being whoever is on that particular weekend.

How you can judge a team after watching 1 game is ridiculous good lord they are 10!! They have amazing games, and off games! I have watched every single game since fall with only losing 3 games playing the best competition! they were all to roadrunners. I would say it's not just 1 person making that happen! Pretty sure they have some pretty amazing girls behind her!!

Wow, this is ridiculous. Again, they are 10u. For the record before I even say anything, my daughter plays for the Lasers Blue 05 team....& yes, Road Runners beat us in fall when they had their full roster there (it was a beating!). The Stingrays pitcher is the real deal with great velocity, movement, & a nasty change up that was working great against us yesterday. As far as why she didn't play for Lasers, I will respectfully echo Bekah24's comment that it wasn't the right fit for Lasers Blue & it was the right fit for Stingrays. The game yesterday vs Stingrays was a great game (4-0) where Stingrays pitcher dominated our hitters most of the game, while their hitters took advantage of 2 of our fielding mistakes with their timely hits that costs us 4 runs. Take nothing away from Stingrays, they stepped it up as a team & played a great game & deserved the win (as did the Roadrunners against us in the fall)!

There will also be other teams that will get better over winter & spring and will be a force in the Summer. Miami Valley Express has 2 solid pitchers (both of which are also solid catchers), & Wizards Elite gave us & Stingrays tough games at Sportszone....& don't forget the Classics 06 team that will get better as well (played them at Sportszone & they have improved since the fall when we played them). I am sure there are more, but those are just a few that came to mind that I have seen play last fall or this winter. We look forward to many tough games against all these teams over the next 6 months. Best wishes to all & see you on the field.

Well said Bekah...My daughter is a pitcher on one of the mentioned teams.. She has been on, and when she is watch out. And she has been off.. One thing for sure I know all of these pitchers and team members are hard working 10u's that will amaze come spring...
Parents are always going to think the little girl they have raised, and watched put in the work is the best, and on any given day she might be.
One thing for sure the road to the top for the mentioned pitchers and team's is not going to be easy. And above all what is being done now with teams, lessons, games, practice and so on at 10u is all preparation for where these young ones are going later in life.

I have an older child involved on a totally different sport, and we've learned over the years a college or high school coach doesn't care what you did when you were 10, they do however care what you were doing to prepare for the journey that brought you to them...

Good luck this season to all 10u...

Well said Bekah, waddell and toofly!.

We all want to win and competitive but at the end of the day it is 10U and the future is bright.

Stingrays beat us 4-0 in 6 innings yesterday and capitalized on our mistakes and played flawless D with Great pitching. I give nothing but respect to the girls and coaching staff. Roadrunners put it to us back in the fall and proved they wanted us bad after some friendlies earlier in the season. That is our history with both. Both are loaded with talent, great coaching and I look forward to playing them many more times. That is our two loses this year and they both deserved nothing but respect for the way the teams played. I would also like to make this positive for teams like Wizards Elite and their team with a nice lefty pitcher, MV Express Burdick and what they are doing with that team, classics 06 hard working young group, Rature who we have played and watched many times, and lady Pioneers who many don't know. Plus, all the other 10U teams out there working hard that will shock some teams this year. Nobody planned for Roadrunners 05, Stingrays 05, or Lasers 05 to compete and win at the highest level last season against the 04 teams and nobody planned for Jackson Royals to come out of Rec and be one of the top teams in 04 age last year. I assume this will happen this year and hope it does. We have a lot more work to do over the winter and Stingrays and Roadrunners I am sure would say the same. All that matters is what we can do come June, July and Nationals and all the rest is just prep work.
See you all at Spano!

I think the last few comments answered the original question of "who are the TEAMS to beat". Everyone is aware of the consistently great teams like the Lasers, Stingrays, and Roadrunners. These comments also listed some "sleepers". Nothing will be decided on here obviously , but he was asking for some teams to beat. These teams mentioned are a good start.

Stingrays would be the team to beat. Their pitcher is the real deal at 10u, and could have picked any organization in Ohio she wanted to play for. From what I remember about RoadRunners is that they weren't a true 05 team last year, but with their core back and some additions they should be very good. Lasers 05 got extremely better as the year progressed last year becoming a top 10 team, so they can't be counted out of any tournament they enter. As Nate said, Fury has a really good pitcher that will keep them in a lot of games. Ohio Lightning Gold is a well coached team with a good group back that I am sure is at Spano. Thanks for the comments from Lasers05 about our Jackson Royals from last year, and it is always good to see the "sleepers" battle with the "big dogs" and get noticed for it. It will be nice if a couple of them emerge this year at 10u. Good luck to all of you at Spano and the rest of the year, and it will be interesting to catch some 10u action after moving up to 12u.

The youg lady from Stingrays is absolutely the best pitcher in the state. I watched her pitch at are hitting league with my striker II pro gun and every fastball was 53-54! And yes she could make it move and dance at 35 feet !!!

Enjoy the time you have at 10s and 12s talk smack, pound your chest and show your TEAM spirit because unfortunately by the time you get to 16s the whole team pride thing goes out the window it becomes a whole different monster filled with a whole bunch of I did and my kid did this and going here......
Personally I would take the excitement of OUR TEAM is better then your team at 10s over the all about me mentality at 16s..
