I have mentioned in the rules of the voting in the past that veterans of the softball community are eligible to vote in the polls. Just drop me a message to explain who you are, what part of the state you watch the most and your current role in the travel ball world.. Over the years I have had a few people that have provided good feedback on teams across the state and were unbiased while doing so.
Coaches, please continue to post the results of all your games each weekend on this thread.. This gives voters some of information they need to accurately put a 1-10 together.

Some questions came up last week about specific teams being eligible based on being a true Ohio team... The criteria I have always used is if your team is sanctioned in OHIO by USA (ASA for us old guys), then that team is considered an Ohio team that is eligible for the Coaches Poll.

I don't always know who is and who is not.. I depend on the coaches to police this and let me know if a team is getting votes and they are an out of state team.
Also, if your team name is not listed the way that you want it. Coaches, please let me know how it should be.. I get variations in the votes on team names.

Ohio Ice Gray

Ohio Ice Gray played in Mogadore this past weekend and drew the toughest two game pool schedule in Ohio getting to play Outlaws Premier and Lasers Blue. Our girls were up for the challenge and fought hard in both games. Outlaws Premier beat us 7-2 and Lasers Blue beat us 3-0. I was very proud of our girls effort. Sunday morning we opened with a 4-1 win against the Phantoms before getting beat again by the tournament champion Lasers Blue. Congrats to both Lasers and Outlaws on a great championship game!

Tallmadge Force Gray went 4-1 this past weekend, winning the championship game against the Starz who has a hard throwing lefty! The Force only gave up 7 runs in the five games played while putting up 32 runs agaist their opponents.

I heard that Mogadore tournament was a tough one, going up against the two toughest teams in Ohio, major props to Ohio Ice Gray and the Phantoms. Next weekend will be a good one at the Racers Tournament at Gracie fields which will include teams such as Ice, Phantoms, Valley, Chardon Storm, Cobras, Starz, and us. Best of luck to all the teams!

Mike Homan w/ Ohio Outlaws Premier

Lots of great softball was played over the weekend. I try to keep up with everyone, looks like alot of teams had some solid weekends out there, Congrats.

Outlaws hopped in a last minute tournament held in Mogadore, OH. We played exceptionally well, led the Championship the entire game and lost our lead in the last inning from a fielding mistake. Mistakes happen, every team makes them, especially at a young age, but I feel we are still the top contender. Looks like Hawks & Storm had a battle together, went until after midnight before calling the game.. those are the fun ones but Bell & Donaldson, you should have kept going!!! Congrats to both of you.

I will be the one to speak up and say some of these votes didnt make sense in week 1 ... there is NO way SGS Magic Thacker is not on this list - just no way. I encourage coaches who are voting in these polls to be realistic.. look at the schedule these teams are playing and look who they are playing against. Wins and losses do not justify where a team ranks.. look at the competition everyone is playing and base your votes off that. Ill be the first to say I base my votes on who I feel is a better team, hands down. Plenty of teams out here have bad weekends, pitching may struggle, bats may struggle but just because the #9 Ohio Kangaroos finished first place in a C class event doesnt mean they jump ahead of the #3 Ohio Landsharks because they lost in a deeper A class tournament! Outlaws are back at it this weekend at our D1 Breast Cancer Shootout. Good Luck to everyone this weekend and keep working hard out there.

Outlaws record is 61-17-2

Key Ohio wins vs #2 Lasers (2-1) #3 Hawks (1-0) #4 Stingrays (1-0) #7 Ice Gray (2-0) #8 Storm - Bell (2-0) - we do not play much in our own state

Key wins outside of Ohio: Beverly Bandits Premier, Silver Creek Prospects, Kentucky Chrome, GA EC Bullets, Georgia Impact, Motor City Madness, Finesse Loomis, KY Rockers, Team PA - Madison, Mojo White, GA Firecrackers, Indy Stars, EC Edge, GA Bulls Hornbuckle, TN Chattanooga Force, GA Power, Indy Gators Premier, Indy Gators Gold, PA Elite, Pitt Power, Outlaws - Cline, South Caroline Elite, Michigan Renegades, Wizards Gold, Indiana Magic Gold, TN Mojo.

Good Luck to everyone again, keep representing Ohio softball out there!

Since you were willing to speak up, I will also(I voted for sgs magic last week by the way) I was going to post this anonymously under a made up account like most people do on here but that’s not my style. Never has been and never will be. My team won 1 game last year (not a typo) 1 game. We were so bad that on a Sunday I had to ask coach Frengel (complete class act by the way) to drop a 3rd strike and not throw to 1st just so all 11 of my girls got to bat before he run ruled us. I had 3 girls stick it out and come back. We recruited every where we could and practiced non stop all fall and winter. In the preseason polls my team received 2 or 3 votes from someone and my girls were ecstatic. My team got a little more respect in week 1 with 18 votes and 9th place. But to see potential votes get taken away from my kids or other kids who worked so hard just isn’t right. So I am calling out Tallmadge Force, as a team you have done nothing wrong or illegal. You are perfectly allowed to use subs, but if you are going to list your wins over Stingrays, Finesse Bragg, and other top teams in the state then people are going to take notice and vote for you. However would those same people vote for you if they knew that those weren’t your pitchers or players? If you are going to use subs from the best teams around. Outlaws, Silver creek, and phantoms then people have a right to know before they vote. You have a good team and you are capable of beating some top teams but it’s not fair for people to vote based on your listed results as if they were real. Plus it may make people take votes away from Finesse and Stingrays

I like your style Steve77621. I follow 12u but look at 10u and your statement is true and needed to be heard. Same crap goes on in 12u too.

Steve, nothing but respect for you, always have, always will, but its cool, feel free to call me out, but lets have all the facts first. My team consists of 9 girls that play Tallmadge Little league, yup little league, (who plays that anymore?). The Tallmadge Little League boarder consists of Tallmadge, Mogadore, Suffield and Brimfield. ALL 9 of my girls live in Tallmadge, and my sub player is from Brimfield. The Silver Creek player you referenced is one of my players who also plays for Silver Creek, feel free to check out our team banner! The Ohio Outlaw player you reference is 8 years old and is a complete STUD, who also by the way plays Tallmadge Little League, and to think if she would have played in ANY of our games with us this year, WOW... she to is in our team picture/banner. So, that leaves us with our one guest player. It should be noted that she played due to one of my girls having COVID and could not play that weekend. Yes, she pitched against the Ohio Stingrays who by the way are an awesome team, very well coached with some great girls! But let's not forget that there is another side to the game called offence, which we did awesome. I don't believe anyone here would argue with me when I say our defense is outstanding! In regards to the Finesse game, that guest pitcher came in and threw one inning to close the game, the score was 6-2.

Look, I love girls softball and coaching this "Little team from Tallmadge", and I get it, we are a class "C" team, and no, we cant run with the Lasers and Outlaws type of organizations, their amazing, but we are holding our own right now, and these 10 year old girls are leaving it all out on the field. If you feel as though you need to call me out, that's ok, I actually have not problem with it. In fact, if all the coaches don't believe my team should get any votes, it's cool, we will still be out on the field playing the game we love every weekend! Funny, I was just introduced to this "Coaches Poll", and this is only my second week here, not sure it's for us.... we will kindly show our little "c" team back to their room. Nothing but love for all you guys and the hard work you put into these girls, molding them into the ladies they will become!

Best of luck to you all, please give the vote you were going to give to me, to Valley Extreme.

Finesse Bragg

Hello everyone I feel like I need some ring music playing when I log on to this site.
We did not play this past week and dont play next next. Our next 3 events are
1) Wizards rizing stars a local tournament that we barely play in.
2)Firefighters
3)PGF Super Select best 10u tournament in the country.

I want to piggy back on some things Mike said above .

Not all teams win loss records are created equal .

Outlaws and Lasers are going to get everyone's best shot every game (would like to think my team as well , but we have some more work to do) Besides a couple of events we try to play the top teams every single chance we get.

Alot of our events look like this.
Pool Games Bracket
SGS Magic Red W Outlaws Cline W
Outlaws Premier W Mi X factor W (Ohio teams if you dont know about them they are legit)
Team PA L Team PA L

We played well and found a way to make it to the championship , but playing events like this a couple times a month our record could have been flipped as well.

We do hold a 3-1 record against the teams ahead of us in last weeks vote.

SGS Magic Red also got votes from me they have deep pitching and good bats.

Ohio Storm Bell seemed low at 8 to me as well. I personally voted these guys higher.

Being in NWO and playing out of State and in PGF events we dont get a chance to see some of the teams on this list , but I do love to hear about all the teams .

Thanks everyone
Josh

I am confused, Steve is mad that votes were “taken” away from his team because his team works hard and the Force doesn’t.... Or because a little old Little League Allstar team had votes given to them?

The whole using subs thing is a moot point since, Two of those so called “subs” actually paid fees, go to all the practices, and everything else with the team, but they can’t make every tourney because of scheduling conflicts... last I checked, one player doesn’t make or break a team/game.
And to add to that, that 8U Outlaws “sub” who has played for the Force the past 3yrs, has yet to be able to play in a Tourney with the Force this year... AAANNNDD while we are on that topic, according to Steve, as he has told many others, that Outlaws player isn’t good anyway, so again what is the complaint?
To think, because the Force is just a “C” team that they don’t work hard, is absurd in itself.

I am sorry that I ruffled your feathers Nate, and you are a super nice guy but we play from 35 ft with the small ball and everyone who has been through this knows that if you have or pickup a stud pitcher and have a average catcher you are almost unbeatable(outlaws had a girl last year that if you could get her to sub on her off week and you had a catcher able to catch her you were 99% guaranteed to win.). I clearly stated that you didn’t break any rules or do anything wrong. I also gave you credit that you have a very nice team and can compete with most teams. It would not surprise me one bit if you beat a top 10 team with your real team. However, when you are listing wins over top ten teams in Ohio that is absolutely going to influence the way people vote. Then they have the right to know that the pitcher belongs to another team? How about the phantoms? They are not even ranked in the top 10, I believe 11th or 12th. You think that’s fair? I bet there kids would like the recognition? If people on hear knew that those key wins in Columbus came from their pitcher filling in then I guarantee that they pickup more votes. As far as the whole Tallmadge little league thing, that is a really nice story and all but you guys are not a “c” team and lots of teams have all local girls. Every girl on my team lives less than 30 minutes from me. I wish you the best of luck and maybe we will meet up this Sunday.

Bk3503, you are the exact reason that people create fake accounts to post anonymously. You just posted quotes from me that have never come out of my mouth. That 8yr old is incredible, she beat me twice when she was 7, she throws harder than every single 9yr old I have faced since last fall, only a couple 10yr pitchers I have seen all yr throw her speed. We have faced her many times at cage games and I have said that she is wild? She has hit several of my girls but that is to be expected from a 8yr old. Too sit hear and make it seem like I was bashing a 8yr old is ludicrous. But it’s easy to post whatever you feel like when you can hide behind a screen name. I have coached softball for 17yrs, the last 12 years have been travel. When I started we were a community team out of Newton falls Ohio called Orange Crush for 2 or 3yrs, from there I coached at thunder elite for 1 season and have been with Valley Extreme ever since. When my older team finished up 10 of my 12 players went on to play in college which I am extremely proud of, 2 of my former players were bridesmaids in my wedding, I still keep in contact and follow several of my players careers, I have never been kicked out of a game coaching in 17 yrs, I DONT HAVE A KID ON THIS TEAM, I volunteer countless hours working on fields and trying to raise $$ for not only my organization but also others. I challenge you to ASK NATE (your head coach) if I did not pay more than double what he was asking for when I came to your friendlies in September(I wrote a check for 2.5 times the cost to help your team out) Who does that ? Someone who cares about the kids, that’s who?Your one day July 5th tournament last year we paid more than your asking price. But I guess to try to make me out to be the bad guy and to try to make you out to be innocent victims people will sit behind a keyboard and post whatever they want. PATHETIC

Steve - actually it’s not a fake account.... BK (Beverly kester) are my initials... 35 was my college number and is my daughter’s number, who happens to be that 8yr old pitcher....and the 3 is for her dad’s college number...

my name is Beverly Kester, Facebook is Bev Ullman kester... and I would be glad to give you my number as well. These are things repeated to me and my husband and this is why I posted this....

As far as all that other stuff, we have nothing to do with or even know about.

I normally don't post on social media but today I will make an exception. I would ask that you not talk about my daughter in any negative way. Good luck with the rest of the season
