Speaking ASA...

No special rules other than the pitching distance (35 feet) and the smaller ball (11"). Everything else is the same as for other age groups.

(Some leagues or tournaments may implement their own rules, like no infield fly, or no stealing home, but those are not standard ASA rules.)

The difference we noticed from 8u to 10u was base running; runner leaving base at release, stealing bases and dropped third strikes. Of course, you add kids pitching. Good Luck, it's fun!

Oh, big time now dude, only 3 in the OF- no rover, 9 defensive players on the field. No coaches are allowed on the field (except for Time Outs) either. LOL! I really liked 8u! Sounds funny now.

How do you teach that without losing your voice?

My youngest is playing on a All-Star 8u team right now. Boy its like a circus sometimes. Coaches, parents, umps, teammates yelling out instructions. Girls running every which directions, lots of tears from unhappy girls that last 30 seconds, and un-syncronized chants from the dug out. I love it !! I wish she would never get older. She is also moving up to 9u this next year. I remember when my 14u did this. Its like moving on to the pro's for them.

Right over here!
Cats and chickens!

The other piece is having your DD understand base running. The girls have to understand how to slide all the time unless told to be up. Some at the younger ages never learn it correctly and get hurt and then don't want to slide. In 10u you see the girls who have mastered it and those still learning. If I could do it all over again at 10U, I would create the best base stealing team I could. Its so hard to throw out a fast kid out at 10u. Even the best 03 teams this year struggled with throwing kids out. A girl who is not afraid of being thrown out is kryptonite to the opposing team. Think about how hard it is to field consistently at 10U, then try the pitcher pitching, catcher catching clean, throwing clean to first and then throwing to second, then the ss putting the tag on? its VERY rare at 10U too many variables and every time there is a transfer of the ball the likelihood for errors goes up.
