Just wanted to say congrats to our "BabyRays"! We (coaches/parents) are so proud of the way you battled back all weekend long. Parents, thanks for all the positive encouragement-the girls really need it at this age. Coaches thanks for all your dedication-way to stay the course by staying with our 3 girl rotation. It's going to pay off come June/July!!! BabyRays take it easy for a couple of days, your homework assignments will come later in the week...lol.

Well, the OHSAA doesn't mean something to everyone. Winners of indoor tournaments certainly do win something - it's a different game from outdoor, to be sure (not encouraging for the long ball hitter), but I wouldn't take the accomplishment away from any team.

Congratulations to all of the 12U at the Spano - especially those who reached the semi-finals. Sounds like "on any given day ..." is particularly appropriate in this case, and it will be nice to see how future match-ups turn out.

After carefully reading the posts, I have concluded that we are getting a little to hung up in semantics. ?The written word is very fragile as it does not convey body language, inflections, etc. ?My suggestion, take it easy and think before you post and before you reply to posts. ?Think about how people may perceive what you post as well as any response you may post.

Last but not least, how can anyone come on this or any other forum and belittle the efforts of any team of 12 yr old girls - or any other ages for that matter. ?I am also amazed by adults "rubbing salt into the wounds" by posting snide comments about other teams or doing the posting's version of the "end zone dance". ?It is ok to be proud, but be an ADULTabout it. ?

Thank you for the kind words. ?I want to congratulate all the teams that participated. ?Spirit, Power, and Lasers, I am sure our teams will meet again and out doors the game changes. ?But, one thing for sure they will be exciting.

the Ice and Spirit did well to reach the championship game...It was a very good game between us (power sheppard) and the ice...it should be good to see some more of our match-ups seeing as how we're in a lot of the same tournaments...also, this time we can go into an ITB if the score is tied at the end of the game...also, both teams hit balls that would have went beyond the outfielders if there was no net or roof

By the way, Congratulations Ice. You beat 3 tough teams in a row (Power, Lasers, Spirit). You guys are all classy and well-coached. Good luck in the rest of your tournaments....we will see you at most of them.

Yes, I saw the schedule. There is a strong possibility that we will see each other a lot over the next two weeks. We will be in Massillon along with you too. Massillon has 16 teams. Should be a fun tournament. Good luck this weekend and we will see you Saturday.

Who would have thought - 16 teams entered, and we play each other again on Saturday in Massillon? Let's hope for great softball weather the next couple of weeks. Wow, what a bad draw - just as you, we will be at the field all day and night! Lucky us!!

I just saw the schedule. It will be along day. 9:30pm probably means 10pm or later. Us playing each other may be my fault. Normally my team is able to play of Friday nights. That weekend we couldn't, do to a school activity.

Hi Clark,

Driving from Pittsburgh, we try our best not to have to play on a Friday night - too difficult for many parents to get off work. I think it is great playing one another. Both are good, solid teams. So, whatever happens in Cortland gives the others a quick opportunity to redeem themselves. It'll be fun.

I checked the weather for the next two tournaments - not as bad as first forecasted (let's hope it shapes up even more). Cortland looks better than Massillon; however, with Massillon being 10 days off, anything can happen.
