I have caught Kristen. Is she 60 - 65 mph, no. She does consistantly hit 60 mph on a fastball. Good control and a very hard worker. I would say she throws during a game a consistant 58 mph. For a 14u I think that is doing very good. I like watching the movement on her ball, especially the curve.
Let's just say a palm guard is a must when catching Kristen.

Very Good pitcher!!!! Played against them @ Spano. 60-65mph??? Don't think so!!

Not a whole lotta COLLEGE Pitchers doing that. Sounds kinda Far Fetched.

When somebody is hitting 65 mph, you know it. Had the pleasure of watching Tincher live vs Michigan pitch in 2 games. Also, got to watch her warm up from about 10' away, when she let it go I could barely track the ball.

Seems like the younger pitchers parents get caught up in the numbers, saying a kid throws hard is good enough. When they put a number on it then tend to add a few MPH's to the number. Sounds like she is a heck of a pitcher, a 14U kid hitting 58-60 legit during a game is bringing it. No need to add a few MPH's, she sounds impressive as it is.
The change up comment Wgman made has really caught my eye, you dont see very many kids that throw that hard also have a good change up. Somebody is teaching that kid right.

Just to refresh what some may not have read earlier in the post. The kid is legit. but I recommend you read my above quote from my own posting. Give her three years and I am certain she will be on everyones radar. It is the package any coach would want. Great parents, hard working kid, sound fundamentals and the movement on her pitches is far more important than the speed she can hit. But I guarnantee you she hits a sound 60 mph consistently at practice; my hand hurt for two days, but I loved every minute of catching her and would do it again in a heart beat.
