Indoor Tournament 14U Winter Jam Indoor Tournament

I am helping coordinate the 2012 14U Winter Jam Indoor Tournament at the Pro Performance Complex in Morgantown, WV. If you have never been there it is an excellent facility with two indoor fields back-to-back:

The tournament will be held Feb 11/12 2012. 12 teams maximum. $350 for a 4GG (3 pool games into single-elim bracket). Two full-size indoor heated fields, separate warm-up areas. The facility is near the WVU campus, lots of places to stay and eat nearby.

For hotel accommodations, please contact the Fairfield Inn located at 2500 University Town Centre Drive in Morgantown. (304-598-5006). Inform them that you’re in town for a Pro Performance Event and receive a discount! It is the nicest and closest hotel, as well as being in the middle of the Town Centre (shopping, restaurants and movie theatre).

Thanks for all the PMs and questions so far. We have a handful of teams pre-registered and several others gathering info still.

The pitching will be from 43ft.

There are numerous hotels near the facility as it is adjacent to the WVU campus. The facility is right off I-79, which can be easily accessed from I-70 coming from Southern Ohio.

Just wanted to post a quick update on the tournament. We should have the registration packets ready to mail out in the next week or two. The tournament is full or near full in terms of number of teams verbally committing. Off the top of my head:

We started emailing out the registration forms today to the teams on the pre-registration list.

For the some of the teams, you have "messaged" us or replied on the thread...but have not provided an email address. If you haven't received the registration form yet, please message us with the email address you'd like it sent to.

Any teams that weren't on the pre-registration list, but would like to play, please contact us as I am sure a couple spots will open up now that payments are due (always seems to work out that way).

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the tournament as a couple teams had to pull out (Ohio Power and Pittsburgh Power-Kresak) due to player availability and we moved on to teams from the waiting list. The field currently looks like this:

Team PA is an excellent team and their accomplishments speak for their themselves. However, we will make it clear in the tournament rules that teams are allowed to try to beat them.

In all seriousness, please don't hijack this tournament thread and turn into a Team PA discussion. Whatever their reasons, we are glad to have them in the tournament - no one ever got better by shying away from competition.

I updated the team list in the first post on the first page. HC Heat and Bullskin Energy confirmed. Waiting for confirmation from last team, Buckeye Heat '97, they are checking availability of players.

If Buckeye Heat can't attend, Stingrays '98 is interested to take their spot.
If Buckeye Heat can attend, we are looking into going to 14 teams to include Stingrays '98...any teams interested in a potential 14th opening, please contact me.
