16u Poll Results 7.6.2011

Only 5 ballots again this week.

Note that the last three teams are all tied for 10th; (ordering was simply by alpha on spread sheet)

Also receiving points: Championship Fastpitch (5), Lasers Silver (4), McHammers (3), Ohio Outlaws (1). In my humble opinion Buckeye Heat 95, which was not on my ballot, should be knocking at the door of the top ten but some of the teams in this paragraph should be in before BH95.

All but #7 and some of the below all play this weekend at Sting Rays. That should firm this list up and I'm sure it will change at the bottom. We get to play the Cincy Doom again which should be fun after our last 3-2 game.

Dan our games boil down to pitching battles. They had 4 hits we had 5. Game was won by a great play by Kline from RF. She threw our runner out tagging on a SF. That was one heck of a play by her. Both teams no errors, just great softball.

You are right some great teams playing this weekend. We hope to get back on the list after a rough weekend. Still we are 6 L, 2 W and 1 T against the top 10, which just helps us get better.

Now that I've followed 16-U some this summer, I'd say after the Scarlet, the next four or five teams are pretty equal and then teams 7 through 15 are in one large group.

Yep ... and I wouldn't count any team out from among that 7-15 group. Lots of balance, some great players and very solid teams. A few of the younger 16u teams are going to be very strong as time goes by. Lots of respect for all those teams getting votes, having played or seen them all.
