18U CINCY STATIC Looking For Fall DH Scrimmages

The 18U Cincy Static is looking to set up some double header scrimmages (friendlies) against quality teams. We are looking for similar minded organizations who would like to use these opportunities to help develop their team and ours to prepare for upcoming exposure events. We have found that our local fall ball leagues have too much disparity in competition to provide us the best environment to develop our team. We are looking to do this rather than a fall ball league so that we can have the flexibility to schedule games on the weekends that we arent playing in other events.

If you are a team or organization looking at this as an opportunity to one up our organization or if you intend to use any success you may have against us as a recruiting tool then we are not interested in playing you. This is strictly about development to us so we want to play teams that view it the same way we do. Organizations of integrity dont always have to agree philosophically but we can all agree that anything we can do to make Ohio fastpitch stronger when we are beyond our border is a good thing. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested.

Thanks,

Cincy Static

What are you talking about, why or how could a team use this to one up your organization? Sounds like your worried about losing players?

No, we are not worried about losing players at all...we had almost 50 tryout for my 18U team alone. Lets just say that there is atleast one organization out there that has used other opportunities in the past and would use this or any other opportunity like this to ATTEMPT to steal players from other teams in an effort to strengthen theirs. I am talking about unethical behavior such as going as far as sneakily asking commited players during an in season scrimmage game to come play for them while laughing, joking and being very friendly with the opposing teams unsuspecting coaches the whole game, inviting players to get extra workouts with their team under the auspices of "we arent trying to get you to leave your team...we just want to help you" and then trying to convince them to leave the team they are commited to once they show up, showing up to players houses in an effort to convince them to play on their team, asking players for their parents phone numbers, calling their homes repeatedly even after no interest is shown, asking the parents out to dinner on their dime to talk about the many empty promises they have to offer their daughter if they jump ship. Yes, this has actually happened to us! Why would any of us CHOOSE to play a team or organization like this?

I think that most of us coaches have certain ethical standards and a certain amount of coaches courtesy towards players commited to other teams. We all have our tryouts after Nationals and that is the time to get our players! If a player is fully commited to another team and is not seeking you out...leave them alone! I know that I can call any given number of players or coaches for players in a pinch and they will help me because they are confident that I will not try to steal them.

Anyway, I think it is completely fair to prevent my players , parents and coaches from having to play in an environment that will be less than "friendly". I have been contacted by several organizations and their is not one of them that I would have an issue with playing.

Coach Sonny my team has Oct 11th open. We had something scheduled but it fell thru.

Are you guys busy that day? We could host and provide the umpire for free or we could travel. Please give me a shout sometime if interested.

Hey Rich,

We would love to play you guys sometime. The trip will be pretty far for a scrimmage but maybe we could make a day of it sometime. We could also consider finding a place to play somewhere between here and there or you guys are welcome to travel here. We are already playing this Sunday but maybe we can plan something for another date. Our 16U team could probably plan something with you. They usually pracrice in Sharonville.

Thanks,

We have been limited by the weather on Sundays this fall. We have only been able to get in two workouts, a DH against a quality NAIA collegiate team and a scrimmage against a high quality local team. We are looking to do a couple more scrimmages once we return back from a College Exposure Tournament we are playing in Oct. 17-18. We may be able to do something Oct. 24th and the week after if the weather cooperates.
