I thought Music City Hits was canceled..?

They were 'interesting' games against the Static....beat us twice and definitely played better softball both times....congrats to being the last Sluggerfest Champions...

Music City Hits did not name a champion in any division due to the weather. I believe the Static was scheduled to play in the semi's when it was cancelled.

From twitter: @musiccityhits: Due to the weather the 2011 Music City Hits Tournament has been cancelled. No winner will be announced for this year's tournament.

True - they kept all the awards!! Static was in the final awaiting to play a winner of the second to last game (semi). In our opinion that would at a minimum make them a tie for first..... true? It is hard to imagine that girls would have played for a few days w/ one game left & TD would not hand out any awards even if it would have been determined by coin flip. For most of these girls - it was the last time for them to play in this well-known tourney!!

Yeah not handled well IMO. We had our 2nd bracket play game (3 games from championship) scheduled for 2:15 saturday but it got moved to 9am Sunday and then was never played because of the cancellation. I think the gold bracket was further along. Shame they didn't just play it out through the night like Patty did for Sluggerfest. Smart move because most other tourneys today did not get championships in.

Patty did make the right decision, even though I had trouble staying awake during the ride home at 3am. It is sad to say goodbye to such a great person and tournament.

We had two tough games with Rob's team. Lost first one 3-1 and couldn't mustard a run with Fultz loosing the second 1-0. We had opportunities but couldn't capitalize.

Congrats to the Static 18u team. Very talented and hope to see you again this summer.

Kavin, did you post the video of Rob anywhere? (the famous Championship dance at home plate?) :lmao:

The comment about no winner in MCH is correct. We were in the championship game waiting on the winner of the other semi-final game. The TD decided not to take my advice and finish the Gold bracket on Saturday night because they wanted all the championship games to be at the same time which makes no sense. We ask them several times to play the remaining two games in the Gold on Saturday night and they refused. As a result they awarded no winner and gave no awards etc... I don't care about winning the tournament but I do very much care about the accolades, MVP awards and all tourney team selections for the players. We try to get every kid who wants to play in college to that level. We have for the third year in a row 100%. It means a lot to the girls to add individual awards and accomplishments to their profiles. This was no handled very well.

First off I want to thank Patty Amrein for running a very good tournament. Patty has been a big part of fast pitch softball and its growth in this area for a long time. Thank you Patty for all you have done to grow this game.

Second I was really impressed by all the teams both 16?s & 18?s who were warriors and went with the flow to get this tournament finished. After all we coaches and parents just watch, the girls have to go out and play. It made for a long day but we did finish.

We played some hard fought games against good teams. Had two very good games vs. a solid Cyclones team. I am sure we will see them again this year.

Lastly I would like to thank my players and parents for hanging in there this weekend.
We had a couple girls missing but the players did as they always do and banded together to get things done. They played as a team and conducted themselves the way I expect them to both on and off the field. I am so proud of the way these girls approach the game.
It?s the reason they will make good college students and players.

Great job to all the teams and coaches this weekend.

Hey Robb - You didn't say anything about Mrs. Coach Robb. Need to check out facebook and I am sure you know whose facebook page to look at.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I heard that the Static 18U only gave up one run all weekend. If true that is impressive. Congrats on another great weekend Rob and the girls.

That's awesome, and isn't that what it's all about. Great job Static!!!

Don't worry Rob...no video needed for some of us. The vision will be forever imprinted on some of our minds!
