They played well. The base runners were fast and usually stole 2nd and 3rd base.

The Goats were a great team too. I suspect they would have gone farther if they had more than one pitcher.

A pat on the back for the North Ohio Heat. First of all let me tell you that we have been fighting a long list of injuries. A pitcher out with surgery on her finger and elbow, a catcher with back problems, pulled hamstrings on both legs to an infielder, another pitcher with a strained back she had to rest all winter, and various other aches and pains that all girls involved in softball have faced. Our first game Sunday morning to start the elimination round was at 7:00am and the girls were asked to be there at 6:00am. We played a very sound game to start but faced some off speed pitching which is hard to adjust to when you have faced the Pittsburg Spirit team the day before. We then won against Sanor's Ice Team 2-1. It was a great game won in the bottom of the last inning after the teams had battled to a 1-1 tie. We then came prepared against a great Wolfpack team 6-0. Some mention was made about the Wolfpack pitcher being tired. She was. She had pitched the entire tournament and deserves much praise for her efforts. Our pitcher had also pitched all three games that morning and was a bit winded. Then in the championship game we came up against the Spirit again and needless to say ran out of gas. The final score was 4-0 and very well played. I congratulate all girls who took part in this tournament. I also give a great big thank you to the coaches from the Spirit who made sure to compliment the North Ohio Heat girls for a great tournament while playing all day long after starting so early. There were a lot of great teams in this tournament. Our girls played their hearts out. They deserved what they got. Thank you to all teams that took part. And to all of the Heat Girls I am proud and privledged to be a part of "YOUR" team! Respect is something you gain through efforts and I think you gained a lot this past weekend.

Sorry for the long winded response but I am so proud of our girls. On a side not Chelsea our shortstop crushed her thumb while swinging at a pitch in the ICE game and will be in a cast the next six to eight weeks which is terrible with High School ball right around the corrner. Chelsea we hope the you heal quickly...... :-[

I would like to CONGRATULATE the N.O.H. too. You knocked off a very good Ice team then KICKED our butts. You played as a team and fought till the end and like your assist. coach said you earned some RESPECT this past weekend! Not only from our team, but from a few teams.
Like the old saying goes..."On any given day if you don't come ready to play"....We'll see you again this summer, I hope for a rematch! Good Luck to all the girls!!!

Thanks Jamie for the kind thoughts, the girls worked hard and earned it.
Like you said you have to come ready to play and as for respect that has to be earned everytime we hit the dirt.
You and your players are one of the most repsected teams around. Your girls work hard together and its always fun when we get together.
Thanks Again
See you in June

I was wondering how the teams from Southwest Ohio (Elite and Bustos) did at this tourney. Anyone here have any scores?
Thanks

Elite was eliminated 3-0 to the eventual champions. Bustos was eliminated by the Goats--not sure of the score.

Bustos went 1-1 in pool play. ?

They overwelmed the Express, but were shut out 5-0 by Ohio Ice Sanor.

Elite also went 1-1 in pool play. The pool was so strong that only one run was scored in all three games. The winners were determined by how many runners made it to second and third base.
