That's a good list of Ohio teams that won't be playing the NSA World Series. I see you guys opened it up to teams from outside of Ohio.

My team isn't going to either this year and I'm not sure I understand why its one or the other, but I know there will be way more college coaches attending this Best of the Best than I saw at the 18-U NSA's last year down in Birmingham. That's a great field.

Probably not both because this tournament is the same weekend as the NSA states, and if you don't do NSA states, you can't do NSA world series....

This is only MY personal opinion.....MOST ALL of the teams listed to come to the 2008 Best of the Best Showcase, DON'T play many NSA tournaments anyway. MOST of these teams and many, many others try to qualify ASA almost every year. So I think (again just my opinio), the coaches of these teams, took the chance of having college coaches come watch their teams play, rather than going to Cincy to play NSA States so they can qualify to go to 18U NSA in AL, where like "coachjwb" stated, NOT MANY COLLEGE COACHES attending the 18U NSA World Series.

Yes, Joe, we did open it up to outside teams. Not really intentionally, but we never stated that is was for ONLY Ohio teams. So we had a few teams that you see applied and we thought is might be nice to get a few of the better teams from the states surrounding OH.

To be honest we would like to be able to accept anyone that applied, but due to limited time slots and amount of games we have to cut teams and make decisions......Wish you guys were still in it....but I understand your reasonings. Best of luck to you and the Buckeye Heat Organization in 2008!

I think it's probably safe to say this will be attended by the colleges far more than NSA State. Many of the college coaches will be in Colorado, but may be home in time for the weekend. And of the ones not in Colorado or who will be back by Friday or Saturday, it's a lot easier for most of Ohio's college coaches to get to Massillon than Cincinnati.

Akron, YSU, Kent State, Ashland, Cleveland State, Toledo, BG, Findlay and Tiffin are the D1 and 2 schools that are much closer to Akron than Cincy. Miami, Dayton and Wright State are closer to Cincy.

On a school's budget, not everyone gets to go to Colorado. I am sure that there will be scouts, assistant coaches and even friends and relatives of coaches that will be in Massillon.

The Road Runner Elite team is pleased to be part of the Best of the Best. We are looking forward to getting to play in some exciting games against outstanding teams with lots of college coaches watching. It should be a great weekend.
