The City of Dayton will be looking for teams for the 2009 Girls Fastpitch Leagues, located at Kettering fields, downtown Dayton, Ohio beginning in January.
Last year was the biggest and best year competitively ever with over 56 teams participating in Recreational and Travel leagues ranging from 10U to 18U with 18/over being added this year.

Also new for 2009:

Dayton Fastpitch FALL LEAGUES at Kettering field.
(Details to come) :)

It's still in the planning stage, but yes, it'll basically be weekend doubleheader leagues at Kettering Fields, Downtown Dayton, Ohio. (not sure of age groups yet, possibly 12-14u and 16-18u) Depending on the amount of interest we would divide the teams into their individual age groups like the summer leagues to ensure the teams are playing girls their own age.

Any questions or suggestions, PM or leave it here for me or call Clyde Brewer 937 855-7745 :)

The statement below is just an observation--I have nothing to do with the Beaverceek Fall leagues other than helping support the Beavercreek High School Girls parents run the concession stand--that revenue is used for the high school team.

The Dayton Fall League may be a good thing, even though it might compete directly with Beavercreek. I say this because last year in Beavercreek there were 32 teams and this meant 32 games to handle on 8 fields and it wasn't always possible to play the teams back to back and thus took away the amount of times the kids had to prepare for the school the next day, etc. If the number of teams went down by half, that would make a more manageable scenario. I guess we all have to wait and see how all this works out and hopefully both sites will be able to have enough teams in each age group to make it work.

Chris,
I had some people asking me if there was anyway the 18U could do just 1 game a week instead of a Dbl. Header ? This way players and parents from the Cincy area would not be getting home at 11:30 at night if the games started at 6:30 or so.

Of courser that would mean the season for the 18U would only be a 5 game season but with practices and tournaments that still would not be too bad.

Let me know and I will pass on the word.

I dont think there would be too much interest in a 5 game league schedule. The only other thing to do would be a 2 night one game schedule, but then youre trying to get the girls to get off work, out of the pool, away from the B.F., and all the other reasons 18 yr old girls have, for 2 nights instead of 1 night.

I've had the gauntlet thrown down by the boss herself, by no means will there be Yankees references or apparel present at the wedding. She doesnt know about the lapel pin i'm wearing lol.

I was trying to get out of there early enough for me and Nat to stop in the clinic Sunday late, of course contingent on the boss....
