Looking for imput on the 2009 Miken Icon or any other Miken bat....do these bats ding/dent easily? What composite bats tend to 'hold up' well?

Composites don't dent. Never had a problem with a Miken bat (DD broke one, but they replaced it within 5 days - also has broken a couple of RTs though so...) as they generally are fairly durable. I would expect a higher incident of breaking with any "light" bat though, if used by a stronger girl, due to the fact that they are shaving the weight from somewhere, usually the handle, to make it lighter.

Thanks! Did Miken replace it or did you return it to place of purchase?

Called Miken directly, got a RA, and shipped the broken one back.

While researching aluminum bats for my DD, came across verbiage on several websites pretaining to composite bats breaking and recommend using an aluminum bat when playing or bat was stored (i.e. trunk) under 60F. Basically keep two bats on hand in cool temps.

we get deals on Miken... the Static org. has purchased over 50 in the past 2 years... not one problem. None, zilch, nada.... good deal, lots of pop, and the girls love them.

DD just broke a Halo Light 2 weeks ago. Haven't had time to call the company yet. Not real optomistic since it is 2 years old. Broke at the top of handle towards the barrell. What Bearmay says makes sense about shaving off the handle I guess. I know one thing, my next composite purchase will come with a cheaper bat for pitching machines.

Anyobdy tried the new 2010 Miken RAIN Light Fastpitch Bat (-12)? The -10 is a bit too heavy for my DD and looking for a new bat.

Easton stealth bats and Demarin's are usually a safe bet. The Mikens tend to dent more easily.

the easton synergy is a good bat and rarely have seen or heard of one breaking. i have a 2008 rocket tech and the paint is chipping all over the bat and i have a feeling that it is going to break in the next couple of years. a girl on my team uses the miken and loves it!!!! she has had many good hits with it!!!

Thanks for the input..heard last night that another good choice would be the Rip-it Elite...its not a 'lite' bat (comes in either -9 or -10 drop) but it does offer alot of pop- any thoughts on the Rip-it Elite?

We have a rip it force. The DD loves it. Good high school bat since it tests the best for cold weather. We won't test any Easton products, or buy them.
