2009 TCL outlook

Uber's on point,......Anthony Wayne is in the same boat in the NLL. The JV team had a very good season last year and many of them will be moving up to varsity. Fact is, the varsity level is a tough nut to crack,...so it's about the UNKNOWN. How will all these players fit in and handle the higher level of play.

I think most people are doubting Notre Dame because of their pitching situation. I believe they were counting on Torey Terry (SP?) until she transferred to Whitmer. Does anyone know who their pitcher will be? I do agree though that their JV and Freshmen teams last year were very good which will obviously help a lot.

Heard Jones will get nod for NDA in pitching circle. She should be sound as she is a Wizard travel player.

It will be Marissa Jones. MJ is a good pitcher.

JMO, I think people are doubting them (NDA)for a few reasons,
1, is they only have 3 returning varsity players, 3rd basemen, OF and last years back-up catcher. Lots of young blood coming in.
2, New coach, She is a very good coach and a good game manager but some people think she will not do well, I personally think she will make a HUGE differace.
Third,Like uber and thunder said ..the "unknown" No one really knows....Heck I have been with most of those girls the last two seasons for travel ball and summer ball at NDA and I am still wondering how they will play this spring...LOL....
One thing I can say for sure is I am glad they are being doubted by many...Takes pressure of the one in circle......lol.....

I just thought of something,.....There's more than a couple of people thinking that Notre Dame is being overlooked. Yet oddly enough, I noticed that there are zero votes recorded in the poll for Notre Dame. So some of you are supporting them with words, but NO VOTES. LOL

Thunder... to those supporters Defense you only get one Vote. and its for Who will win the TCL. I'm understanding that and I also Agree that NDA will be in the Final four well should be but, No ones thinking they will be the Champion.
But lets get these games on the way and Let NDA Prove Us all WRONG..

I like the yellow, you can see it. I for one think there is too much talk about the TCL. The NLL will be the league to watch this year. I am looking forward to April 25th, we will all be able to see which league is better.

I thought this might strike up some conversation. It has been far too quite on OFC this year. Game on!!!!

Tell me if I'm Wrong but didn't Clay have the best record by the end of the Year going into the final four and Sua came out as champions...That is what makes TCL fun ..and were still talking..about what can happen this year..:yahoo:

Boy, how about that Clay/ Whitmer game in last years t-ment! Goes down as one of my favorites of all time.

That is what makes the TCL set-up so great. At the end of the season, any one of the top 4 can win it all.

JMHO but many of these predictions are based upon who may or may not be throwing for thier perspective schools. Having a strong team behind them doesn't hurt at all. Keep in mind that if anyone gets injured (God forbid), replaced, or just walks away from high school ball---the whole outlook changes. Now lets just get the games played already:yahoo:

I went through this whole thread and I dont see anywhere were anybody is doubting NDA. I am starting to think their parents or somebody from say a rival school are posting saying they are not getting respect as a way to stir the pot a little. Nothing has been said about them that hasnt been said about other teams in the past, I am not sure why they should be immune to people questioning who is going to replace 7 starters lol.

last year for example People asked who was going to replace Gorsuch and Kulakowski of Whitmer, well kids replaced them and they made it to the TCL finals when only Uncle_Bubba said he thought that was a possibility. Some said they would fall off the map, but I didnt see posters constantly talking about how Whitmer was being doubted. They knew why they were being doubted lol, they lost good players.

NDA is not going to be taken lightly, they are going to have to bring their "A" game against the softball schools, Whitmer, SUA, Clay, Waite, Start, Bowsher and Central because those schools are going to bring theirs. Especially SUA lol, I hear they have not gotten over the score of the NDA vs SUA JV game yet :lmao:

Definitely agree with this. I believe the JV has won at least 4 in a row if i'm not mistaking. With some of those players coming up, Clay should have a VERY strong batting lineup, as well as tons of different options on where to play the kids in the field. Most of them can, and have played multiple positions very well. Coach R has a lot of options with all the talent Clay has.

Start and Nda play early I think the winner of that game will be your #5 & #6 team.. hopefully Nda doesn't take that game lightly knowing they have Sua right after...Clay is always solid and has younger kids coming up that will help their offense ( that is a scary thought ). It should be a lot of fun this year.

I think it would be a major disappointment if NDA isn't in the top 4. I think their going to be in position for a #1 seed. They had a strong JV team and a coach with plenty of softball experience even if its not as a varsity coach.
