Actually that does not add up
11 tournaments X 350 = 3850
11 Bat bags X 50 50= 550
11 Helmits X 40 = 440
11 Uniforms X 150 = 1650
Sanction fees and Insurance 200

11 Players = $608 each

Now that is bare min. does not include any extra's

So there must be mandatory fundraisers and such or big sponsor money

This last weekend I was talking with a Asst. Director of the Sparks Tournament. The conversation rolled around to team fees. To play for the Sparks organization it cost 2,200 a year. My jaw dropped when he said that, but then he explained everything it paid for: tournament fees (and they go to major tournaments), team uniforms, indoor facility to practice in for the winter, one lesson a week, hotel for the team at Nationals, (they pay for 16U and 18U hotels in Colorado, also), flights if necessary for the team and one meal a day while at Nationals. When you start adding up how much you pay in private lessons, indoor rental fees and hotel fees, etc... ????

I totally agree we should have that Momof15z. This type of income / spending statement seems to be a rarity here in Ohio. The teams we were associated with in another part of the country always furnished a financial statement to the families, especially if they were not-for-profit with the IRS.

My son played for the same organization in 2008 Coach Y. mentions above and all the families appreciated their policy of open disclosure.

Just found out on my son's current team that one of the players did not pay fees. This type of decision probably should be approved by more than just the coach, unless that coach is paying for it out of his own pocket.
