The 2012 Mid-West Fall Signature Showcase will be held in Columbus Ohio on September 29-30 at beautiful Berliner Park. As always this is the weekend prior to Columbus Day weekend, and being our 4th year we expect it to be a breakout event this year.

This event is for 16u and 18u teams.

Again this year, games will only be played on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate travel schedules of teams from out of the area.

As the teams that attended last year know, we pull out all the stops to bring college coaches to our tournaments. Last year's event had 59 teams attend and if the weather had been better we would have had over 60 college coaches!

Since we are not playing on Friday, teams will get 5 games, and the games are 1 hour and 40 minutes so you get lots of exposure! Teams will play 3 games on Saturday and 2 games on Sunday. We offer situation play and other unique features in this event.

FPHQ has a lot of experience running true showcase tournaments. We do it right, and make it a great recruiting opportunity for the teams and for the college coaches.

Don't miss this one!! Go to www.signatureshowcases.com to get more information and to submit your entry or call Patti at 954-540-7850.

I just wanted to make sure that the M C Madness team listed is "Madness Black Saunders". If that is not the team you received interest from (Kelley or Adams may also have inquired) please add us to the list. We are planning on attending just getting things in order. Thanks!

The MC Madness on that list should be the exposure team with Adams.

Patti - these are separate teams!

Thanks!

The MC Madness team we have is Adams. We have not received an entry from Madness Black Saunders yet. I will "pencil in" Saunders team, but please be sure to submit the online entry as soon as possible. I can give you more time for money if you need a little more time, but get the ball rolling with the submission of the entry. Thanks.

Does anyone know if we will be using the front turf fields for this tournament?

This is directly from the posted tournament rules:

37. Turf fields at Berliner: The Berliner Sports Complex has 8 fields that have the latest in artificial turf. The field #s are 10-17. These fields remain in perfect playing condition even after significant rain. Teams can wear their regular cleats on these fields.

When we got there for the All Sanction World Series the park told us different. Had players scrambling for molded cleats or turf shoes. I would bring both. Not only that the metal cleats really bite in hard so beware.

From the web site:

14. Turf Fields - Berliner Softball Complex has 4 fields (#10,11,12,13) that have a new turf surface on the infield. The park normally does not allow metal cleats on these 4 fields, but for our event they have waived that rule. Teams that do not want to play on the turf fields need to advise the tournament director before the schedule is completed.

Sounds like you can wear metal but you may not want to. The web site says fileds 10 - 13 while the quote Bergy posted says fields 10 - 17 are turf. Anyone know which it is?? I'm guessing Bergy is right. The web site also said the schedule would be posted two weeks prior then they said last weekend but it's still not posted. Probably do it after the tourney. haha. Point is I don't trust the web site.

Just my two cents. None of my players will wear metal cleats on the turf fields. We got to watch a horrible injury on the turf field when a kid broke her leg in multi places , because her metal spikes got caught in the turf sliding into second base. Ask around and talk to players that have played on those fields. I think you will find out the same view when running the bases.
