I would like to say that I saw a coach this weekend show such disrespect for this tournament that I could not believe it. If I was the tournament director I would do everything I could to get this coach and his team banned from every tournament I could. I would definately not allow them back to this tourney. When you sign to play in a tournament you should do so with the intentions of being in the tournament until it is done. Especially if your team that would have most likely won the 16U event. When you show up with no intentions of playing on Sunday that is ****. This team showed up this weekend using Saturday as a "warm up" for a future tournament they were playing out of state on Monday. When the coach was approached they had no care or concern. From my understanding he was actually very arrogant and disrepectful to the director himself because he was being asked about it. This not only disrespects the tournament but every team playing this weekend. Every parent on this team should be ashamed up themselves as well for going along with this coaches philosphy.

Tom you did a nice job putting this tournament together. It's just as shame for all involved to be so disrespected. I'm pretty certain with the conversations I had yesterday that I'm not the only coach upset about this.

Coach for the KIDS not your EGO!!!!

Static 97 loses in bottom of 7th and finishes 6-2 while taking 2nd place. Very big considering they played up in the 18u bracket. Nice job to our 14u's. My hat is off to you young ladies!!

Wow! Isn't that what friendlies are for!? Who does that with a clear conscious?

The team in question had 19 rostered players. 16 of them showed up yesterday. Lester you are correct, thats what friendlies are for. For that mater he had enough kids he could have played a scrimmage against himself. It's a good thing that he was confronted before he was able to complete his bracket play or he would have sent two teams to the losers bracket before jumping ship...I still just cannot get over a coach doing this..

Our team even heard they were going to do this early Saturday morning. I feel bad for Tom as he ran a great tourney. My understanding from what I heard is that he (Sluggers Coach) was not going to say anything until they were walking out of the park Saturday night.

Very hot weekend but my girls got in 8 games against the 18U competition. The Blue Grass Blaze was an excellent 18U team w/ very strong hitting & pitching. It was a bummer to give up a two out - two run single in the bot 7th to loose 3-2 but I have much pride in how our girls battled all weekend. Hopefully this will help prepare us for the USA/ASA. Great job Static 97 - I am a very lucky coach.
