So funny to think that everyone on OFC stresses education as the #1 priority over softball but its ok to skip school to go see a softball game. And don't give me it's a dream and its only 1 day of school. JMHO.

My kid is an honor roll student and has missed one day of school all year. The next day she is also helping out (as much as possible for a 12 year old) at a dentistry from the heart event at her mothers office. I think her mother and I can manage.

but thanks for the advise though

ranks up there with some of the dumb stuff I've posted in the past. on top of that I thought about asking the DD to go with me but I dont want her to miss practice on thursday . she kinda makes up her own school schedule anyway.

you sir may own that title of being the most "brave" with your posts in the past. Lots of chuckles thanks to you! You, Lenski, and Musty have added color to this forum for years.

Kudos to her.... Generalizing the fact that parents feel like its ok to have their kids skip school at the educators expense (its their job to keep these kids in the classroom to educate right) so that you can see a sporting event during a normal school day that is not directly involved with that school. Just an opinion not necessary directed at you but "skipping school" de-values what education stands for. No different than skipping classes just to avoid school.

Not getting on a soap-box, just a belief.

I don't see any easy games from start to finish. Hard to believe the #1 seed, Florida, will probably have to play 'Bama in their first game. Even with 'Bama's recent record, they're still ranked #6-8 in the country.

Anyway, back to softball, my dd and were daydreaming about going this year, but, unless she gets hurt or something, it'll probably be after she's done with college before we get a chance to attend. Same with the WCWS. However, I did warn my lovely wife that there's a good chance the TV will be busy DVR'ing all the games. DD was OK with that, though.
