M.C. Madness Exposure team, made up of from a combination of our three 18u teams, went 5-0 on the weekend. defeated the Maddogs 14-7, NEO Bulldogs 8-0. Ice Black 2-1, Pit Power 10-1 and Wolfpack-Goch 4-1. Great weekend of softball and weather. Thanks to the Wolfpack for working so hard to put on a quality showcase.

Kudos to everyone involved. Saw some great teams and competition here. They had to put warning signs for those navagating their canoes and kayacks down the Mohican River ... "Caution - flying objects" ... saw a couple bombs at the Wally Road field.

As a parent, I did not go to the tournament with the pressure of winning but simply hoping the girls played as best as they could with hopes that maybe one of the college recruiters would see something they liked. I was proud of my 14y/o who pitched against the 18u Miami Valley Express Gold team ....... she quckly learned what happens when you do not get the corners and have to throw over the plate (or throw over the plate vs a team who is patient and can hit the ball). A bit disappointed we could not field some routine plays but also realize that fall ball is the time to identify work that is needed through winter.

Very pleased with the venue and the way the tournament was operated! Had two schools inquire about my 15 y/o which is what were hoping would happen.

Many thanks to Chuck Ferrell for once again coordinating our tournament and our volunteers. Many thanks to all of our Wolfpack parents who did another amazing job working the fields, this cannot be as successful without their effort! Thanks to all the teams that came to play some great softball!

Thanks to the Wolfpack for putting on a quality event as usual! The Madness enjoyed it once again this year and look forward to seeing some of these great teams this summer.

Walsh was there. I also saw Wayne State and Ashland

as for scores, they mean almost as much as scrimmage scores. Hardly anyone was playing to win. rotating players, batting everyone, pick up players on teams, players playing out of position, players playing just because it was their turn to play, etc......

Not sure why scores are even reported at these.

I totally agree. Every team we played (MV Xpress 18u) batted the roster and moved kids around. We only had 8 kids on Saturday (Homecoming, sick, injured, etc.), played with 8 the first game, and picked up a player for each of the other 2 games. On Sunday we started with 10 and ended with 9 due to injury.....the rest of the roster is either injured or had personal obligations. Our outfield and corners were out of position the entire weekend but we still had a blast, laughing at players out of position making nice plays, batting everyone, hitting the gas station/quicky mart/Subway in between games, and watching other teams do basically the same thing. I very seldom see teams from PA at the tournaments we attend, and every PA coach I met was awesome and are truly in it for the kids. The parents were class acts as well. One coach told me that playing Ohio teams was a real eye opener for them. He didn't realize how passionate Ohio teams were when it came to softball......his words.

Anyway, I'm with Woolfman. The scores were not truly indicative of the quality of the team. I saw teams focus on playing everyone and trying different things as opposed to trying to win.

That is what the showcases are for, at least I thought that way. Put kids in, move them around and bat them all. This way they can show college coaches what they can and cannot due. Showcase games is never about just winning, everyone loves to win the game but if a kid or a few kids excel and end up with offers that is way above winning the game. Just my thought
