Hi Everyone,

Here is some information about the 2015 Keith Carver tournaments in Maysville KY as you work on your 2015 schedule..
Date: June 20nd and 21st 2015
Age Divisions: 14U-18U is the (HS division)- OPEN Division HS College Adult
Cost: $325.00 HS/Open
Open Roster Format with modified ASA rules. (KHSAA)

Locations: HS and Open division will play on 200 ft lighted fields.

There will be "TWO" divisions of play in 2015.
High School division for High School teams and teams 14U to 18U (Cap is 8 teams)
The OPEN division that will have current and former college players and a mix of 16 and 18 Travel teams. (Cap is 8 teams)


All minors must have parent sign a waiver and teams need to show proof of insurance at reg.
Games 5 (weather permitting).

Teams that attended the event over the past years include College club teams, High School teams 14U,16U,18U and 18O Travel teams.

Entry fee is $325.00 using .47core 400comp NCAA balls. Teams must submit $100 deposit by May23rd. Balance due day of tournament.

Non-Roster Event: This tournament is a non-championship-play event therefore teams do not need to show an official roster at check-in. Teams are welcome to invite and use guest players during the tournament. College players are welcome to play in the open division. During tournament play your line up card will be your roster so make sure to include any subs.
All minors must have parent sign waiver and teams with minors need to show proof of insurance at registration.
Format: The formats will be as follows:
 Open and HS tournament will have a 5-game guarantee, 1 hour 20 minute time limit, WEATHER PERMITTING, and will consist of 4 games of pool play followed by a single-elimination format tournament. Teams will be seeded into their brackets based on pool play finish. Format is subject to change if we add or drop a team.

Official Keith Carver Memorial Tournament Playing Rules
This tournament is a non roster open entry event. Your lineup card presented prior to play is your official roster “for that game”!
The tournament will use modified KHSAA playing rules with the following exceptions.
During pool play teams may bat their bench and use last out to run for pitchers and catchers.

You may use a DP/FLEX in both BRKT. and Pool play. It “must be” stated at the pre game and on your lineup card. FLEX in the #10 line up position. If the Flex enters the game to bat for the DP it is a substitution and the lineup drops back down to 9 or 10 if using a Base Bandit.

You may use a base bandit in both pool or braket play. (ISL Rule) Coaches must state at the pre game meeting and have the base bandit listed on your lineup card as BB in the number 10 or 11 position if using a DP/FLEX. During pool play this would be your last slot in your line up card if you are batting the bench less BB.

The base bandit can run multiple times in the same half inning for “any” base runner. EX: Pitcher/Catcher or slower runner. They cannot bat or play in the field. They can be substituted for and substitute for other players however once in the game the BB can no longer be the base bandit and the lineup will drop back to 9 or 10 if using the DP/Flex and you will need to use substitutes for your base runners. The base bandit cannot be the DP or the flex.
Teams can choose to sub for base runners but the substitute base runner must not be in the game and the on base runner will need to be “reentered” if going back into the game. This player can only re enter one time unless of an injury. TD and UIC will need to make injury game time addition call. Field Umpire can allow re entry 2X but the reentry must be for the injured player in the batting order.

Game times are one hour twenty minutes (1:20) drop dead or 7 innings in pool play.
In the event of a tie after 7 innings and still time on the clock the last out will be placed at second base (International Tie breaker).You can also insert your base bandit if you are using one. Once game has met the time limit game is over and will be recorded as a tie during pool play only.
In the event of a tie (after 7 innings) in bracket play the game must be finished using (International tie breaker). Last out placed at second base. If using a base bandit they can be placed at second base.
There are “no protest” allowed at the Keith Carver Memorial Open.

The weather gods have not been kind this week and it looks like this weekend is 100% chance of rain as well so we have had to cancel the June 20/21st tournament. If any hotel issues arise let Jimmy Saunders or Mike Huff know and they will address it.

If you are interested in playing the tournament on July 11/12th or 25TH/26TH with the same 5 game format as long as we get 5 or more teams $325. Let Jimmy, Mike or I know ASAP.

If we only get 4 teams we will try to put on a one day 3 game round robin on a Sunday July 12,19,or 26th in Maysville KY or Colerain OH $275 depending on where and when the majority of teams wants to play.

Let Mike, Jimmy or I know ASAP and we will get fields reserved if we have enough interest.
