2015 Ohio Classics Tryout Registration

The Ohio Classics will be having a team in each age group for the 2015 summer season. The teams will also play a 2014 Fall schedule. Each team will be holding their own tryouts. To register for a tryout go to http://www.ohioclassics96.com/index.html and fill out the form. The individual coach will get in contact with you concerning details of their tryouts and their needs.

The Ohio Classics is a highly competitive club team that plays in the top level tournaments in the midwest. Our teams play in national qualifiers throughout the summer season with the goal of qualifying and attending a national tournament at the end of each summer. Our older teams are all college showcase/preparation teams.

If you are interesting in trying out for a team be prepared to play throughout the fall and summer at high level tournaments with some degree of travel required..

The Ohio Classics 96 team will become simply the Ohio Classics 18U and will be having players with 1996 and 1997 birth dates, mostly committed players but not required. This team has been highly competitive for its 9 year history and we plan to be at our peak in 2015. The team won the Explosive ASA/USA Qualifier, finished second at the Dayton Metro ASA/USA qualifier and recently placed third at the Ohio Stingrays Showcase. We will be playing a similar schedule as we played this past year which included the Stingrays Showcase and a couple of friendlies in the fall and for the summer we plan to play at Dayton Metro, Lasers, ASA States, Best of the Best, Stingrays and Loudonville.

We are looking for a catcher and a shortstop, an outfielder and a positional player based on athleticism. We will have an open tryout on Wednesday, August 6 at 6:30pm at Pickerington Central HS. If you cannot make that tryout, we can arrange for a private tryout. Group tryouts will be held August 6 from 6:00-8:00 at Pickerington Central HS. Please arrive early to warm up. Please notify us if you expect to attend.

he Ohio Classics 99 team will be having players with 1999 birth dates for the 2014-15 season. The team has compiled a 142-35-2 record over the past 3 years, has 19 tournament championships since 2009, and will attend our 4th straight National tournament this summer, and 2nd ASA-USA National, with attending the 14U ASA-USA National in San Diego at the end of the July. Despite some key injuries, the 2013-14 team won Laser Nation, took 2nd at ASA States, 3rd at Dayton Metro, 6-1 at Fire in the Sky, and 4-2 at Stingrays Showcase and compiled a 34-8 record this season. We will be attending the Atlanta Legacy College Showcase prior to heading to San Diego with 7 games against some of the best teams in the US. During the 2014-15 season we will be playing in College Showcases and ASA-USA National qualifiers with the intent to showcase players to colleges and earn a berth to the 16U ASA-USA Nationals in Chattanooga, TN. The tournaments we are considering for next year are Stingrays Fall College Showcase (already accepted), Outlaws Fall Brawl Showcase, Scenic City Fall and Summer Showcases, Dayton Metro, Lasers, ASA States, additional ASA-USA qualifiers, Atlanta Legacy Showcase, Colorado Explosion or Sparkler Showcases, and Stingrays Showcase.

We will be conducting tryouts August 6-9 at either Pickerington Central HS or in Granville. The sites and times are still being worked out for each day. We are also considering setting up tryout sessions in the Canton/Akron areas and Dayton/Cincinnati areas if there is enough interest in those areas. Private tryouts will also be conducted.

The Ohio Classics 96 18U team is looking for three players with an emphasis on a catcher, a shortstop and another position player. We will have an open tryout on Wednesday, August 6 at 6:30pm at Pickerington Central HS. If you cannot make that tryout, we can arrange for a private tryout. Players do not have to be born in 1996, we have several 1997 and a 1998 on the roster currently.

Which 18U team are you referring to? 18U Mix team has three pitchers committed for next year and is not looking for additional pitching at this time.

Andy's team is coming off a very successful summer that recently finished with a GSPSS championship and a 3rd place finish at the NSA Nationals
