I took some Saturday games at Armco Park as a favor starting at 1 pm.. so I will see you directly afterwards after I change clothes.

Thanks for all that came!!! We estimate there were around 650 folks! We served over 600 meals then stopped counting...

Thanks for Hitter23 and Boudlersdad (and esp Boudlersmom and BoudlersSister) among many others (Shep, Zanger, Derek, Shep's entire team - esp the Ky mom's and dad's, Floyd and his wife, Mike Wood, my lovely wife Lisa, and Jay's team parents) for all the hard work they did - it was an amazing time!

Quakerman - you are one special guy... I am so glad you came - I enjoyed talking to you - you have the biggest heart for the kids I have ever seen - and I can not thank you enough for your help - we found out at midnight that we had to put all 200 table and gazillon chairs up or lose our deposit .. Tim worked with us for over 90 minutes with us staking chairs and even swept the floor - he and I walked out together - closing it down around 2am .. thanks my brother!

Also - Crystl Bustos was great! I kept taking softballs to her to sign for the raffle and although she would bust (or better yet - Busto) my b***s - every time - she signed them all, took pics with the girls and even went up on stage and did our drawing and raffle with us... It is great to see someone that has accomplished so much - be willing to give back to the girls .. thanks CB!

Had a great time at the fish fry last night, thumbs up to hitter23 and bouldersdad you guys put in a lot of time and energy for all the young ladies in hawks org. just wanted to say thank you and thanks to the entire hawks org. you guys are top notch. Hitter23 the truce is on

It was nice to see Tim sitting next to Crystl signing balls....it brought a tear to our eyes as we watched Crystl just being nice to him

Debbie stopped by and said see what me and the kids have to put up with!

Because of the rain on Saturday, my games ran late and I didn't get there until 10 pm , Drew. Glad to hear you and your family had a great time. I am sure we will catch up sometime during the summer.

Crystl is great isn't she, Drew? She will give every ounce of energy to the girls. She is proof that dreams CAN come true for the girls. One day I will get to meet her. It just wasn't in the cards for Saturday I guess.

Doug, you are welcome for the help. I would do the same for anyone. BD and Hitter 23 and the parents put so much time and effort into this fundraiser and it would have been sad to see all their hard work .. and then lose their deposit on the place and thus monies to be used for the girls this season.

BD said it best when we was cleaning up and he said, " I just have to remind myself that it's for the girls". How true that is and how great of a job they did organizing the event.

I will say though ... if ever there is a "Koaches Karaoke" contest at a tournament ... Coach Jay Davis will definately win the prize... Talk about a "second wind" coming to the event when he got up to sing !!!!

Are you guys going to have a weekend hitting clinic this Fall and a fish fry and fundraiser on that Saturday night ? Count me in if you do. A couple of scrimmages on Sunday would be fun too hosting the out of town teams coming in for the clinic.

I surely had fun at the event talking softball with everyone. :yahoo:
