Well, I guess since my team did play one game Friday I can comment.
Jessica (TD) - first time I met her, very nice.
Field - Wally Rd. - field was ok but HR fence was not safe in my opinion. It was too short and too flimsy between the posts.
Umpires - field umpire - did a good job, a little "seasoned" but did well. Plate umpire - at pre game meeting he instructed us to tell the girls to swing because we WILL get this game in. We did start 20 minutes early (which I was fine with) but after hearing his comment I was concerned about the strike zone. Neck level and 8 inches off the plate was a consistently called strike. I'm usually ok with a little wide if consistent but this was a little too extreme. We had 2 fastballs called strikes that literally hit the back edge of the plate. Yeah both teams had to deal with it but it was a little too much if you ask me.
Unfortunately Saturday and Sunday were washed out. I applaud Jessica and her crew for trying to get the fields playable but Mother Nature had her own agenda. Even though the decision to cancel pool games Saturday was late I understand having to wait to the last minute to make that decision. Thanks for the effort and hopefully you will have better weather next year.
